If someone murdered someone irl they don't teleport to hf ^_^. I suggest clean the windows and watch how the real life looks like.

True, but IRL people piss and shit so should we add that to the game? No, because the game DOES NOT HAVE TO BE REALISTIC.
Who the fuck wants to walk back home upon doing a crime? Nobody would do crimes.

Where did you read I've written game should be realistic? I agree with tonky that there should be hf-lock after leaving summonable scents. I just laugh at invalid argument that hf-lock is a bad idea, cus there are no such things irl.

Realism does not always make better games. In fact, making things too realistic often makes games worse or appealing only to a very narrow demographic of crazy fans of intricate detail.

As for locking: Wouldn't it just encourage vaulting even more?

HF lock would be difficult.
Your HF was destroyed, you cannot build a new one?
If you can then there is no HF lock, since you'd just get another char to destroy it, and if you can't, then it's a death sentence if your HF gets destroyed.
If the HF can't be destroyed, then it's a cheap and easy way to make an unbreakable wall.

However I do think that if you have a pclaim, your HF must then be on that pclaim to extend it any more than 5x5, or if you don't have a pclaim then your HF must be in your village.

Or what if you just leave a scent by mistake or you are defending yourself and your hearthfire happens to be in a terrible spot at the time or not built at all. I think an "hf-lock" would be a bad idea. There are too many "what-ifs" to implement such a half-ass fix.

Perhaps a Track Idol feature would be handy as well as summoning from an idol?

Stealing accidentally...? Wut
Vandalizing accidentally...? Dude
Just disable criminal acts
You don't even need Rage to KO someone in self-defense btw, you don't leave scents if he aggro'd you.

if people bother to break into a vault, they could break into one after so much efforts and finish what they want to do. summon and ko or kill the perp. right now, they can bother to break into a vault, only to find the perp already moved his hf. all you can do right now is to catch them online while outside the walls unless the perps are total noobs. so, no it would discourage vaulting.
and tell me who doesnt build a vault right now when they know they are raiding or going on a murder spree?
besides, it would give some meaning for a big village of multiple layers of walls again instead of a single walled vault, away from their real home.
at least, that was the point of the suggestion iirc.

people destroy hf for a reason. if it is destroyed and if you dont get summoned (which is an instant death), you can build another.
do you even understand what im talking about? im talking about "when the perp has summonable scents", not just all hf locks.

and please dont try to make a new rule when one isnt needed. we are supposed to be enjoying freestyle game, we dont need more rules than we need.

@kaios
wow, stop
