In my opinion, plots should not be that small. I guess that is main reason.

You mean, 25x25 tiles? I think it is a good size. 20x20 in the previous Brodgar was too small, but I think if we make it 30x30 or larger the town sprawl gets way out of hand. For people who need more space, their best plan is to dig down and place their buildings below like some of us are doing. I now have access to 1250 tiles of space by doing that.

A plot size of 25x25 is a pretty nice size (sure, it might get a bit cramped depending on how you use it).
But considering there is no rule saying that you can't have only one claim ...

You mean to say, "no rule that you can have only one claim..." ?

But there is.

That is a basic rule of living in town. One person. One claim.

However, there is no rule about you having to live IN that claim with your main character. You develop a claim, you get your town alt oathed, you then develop somewhere else larger nearby but out of town, and that is fine.

.................................

On a different topic, I am very busy IRL for several days, after which I will then be on holiday and away from my computer. I may log in to feed my cows, and that is about it. See you all in two weeks.

IF YOU NEED TO BE OATHED...

1. Get thyself on the town skype chat.
2. Be nice to Snacky the Chieftan.

If anyone feels up to it, I am extremely interested in hearing more about how this works, by PM or if there is a thread with details.

I am assuming mineholes all the way down, but, I mean, how much space is inside one? What shape? Since it goes down to the underground levels, can someone dig into it and sneak inside? And other questions and all.

sqrt(1250/2) = 25

I'd imagine it's just the regular plot size (25x25 tiles (625 tiles)) times 2, since there are 2 levels.
Shape: square

Also, you'd have to wall off the lower level.

EDIT: You could of course go deeper, providing you with even more space.
The low life has lost its appeal
And I'm tired of walking these streets
To a room with its cupboards bare

Those who wish to be oathed, mention it to someone who you know is in the village and they'll most likely let me know when I next log in. It's hard to run around town all the time and see people on their plots!
