Prior to haven I had 0 skills in programming. This game inspired me to teach myself coding so its a big deal for me to keep on scripting.

Outside of haven I honestly have as much experience coding as a clueless monkey behind a panel of buttons. I would make a game on my own but I neither have the time or experience. Thats the main reason I love scripting in haven cause it both lets me learn more and is a fun pastime hobby on the side of my studies.

Maybe someday I might end up doing something on my own but not anytime soon. I know how clueless I am about actual functional java code so if I was forced to stop scripting in haven it would literally kill any way for me to learn coding as a hobby. I would either need to get a proper education in learning java the proper way in uni or just shelf the whole programming thing and go back to what I am currently studying, civil engineering which have nothing to do with coding unfortunately.

I dono if anyone else is in the same boat as I am but if loftar would force me to stop scripting by banning botters it would be a really hard blow for me.

Me too. Besides, I don't know much about coding, but I can advise you a book on Java coding: http://math.hws.edu/javanotes/ I find it well written and it doesn't take much time anyway and assumes no prior programming experience. I've been advised "thinking in java" as well, but I haven't tried it properly yet.
