This is obviously the solution, it is also unfortunately non-trivial to accomplish. It's fixed in Salem.

Can you explain exactly why? I've never understood why it's such a problem.
Just make a butcher skill that immediately turns a dead body into a skeleton. All equips from the dead character are lost (and don't worry about harvesting human meat or hides, that's just dumb), and then you can lift the skeleton out of the way.
What exactly is the logistical problem with a solution like this?
