This is the most painful response I've seen.
When someone gives you advice, don't expect him to do it for you.
And anyway, even if he were to build a wall, he would need help. That might be a reason he's saying it on the forum.

Thankfully, I don't live there either  I meant that implementation of his idea is virtually impossible due to laziness, ignorance about the game mechanics, and the lack of organization, too.

The thing is, everyone in Brodgar seems to be reluctant to any work of such kind.

I am offering my help in building it along with materials used. Everyone here seems to ignore me. I'm thinking leaders of the city enjoy their villagers being slaughered, so there is some drama... I guess.

Oh, that's very kind of you!

Same thought crossed my mind. But actually, I think that Yolan is rather just being busy IRL... And still, a wall around the city (though I do think it is worth building) would isolate it, and it is bad for the idea of "open city". Moreover, your previous posts seemed more like an advice rather than help offer.

Bordgar don't needs a wall. It needs more active citizens with a cooperation bug. (and less public anvil stealing kids.)

- - -

You know.
- Those smaller city patches (in between the bigger roads) could be great for smaller cooperate activities.
- Plot workshop(s) could be a way to keep the kids with long fingers in check.

... Bureaucracy (the good kind) -> Communication -> Transfer of information -> Knowing whats going on -> Happy citizens -> More active citizens -> Happy and buzzing city. ... (hee, I can have dreams.)

Ok. Bordgar also needs more defending capable citizens (smart wall). Preferably guided by good communicators (Don't want them knocking every unknown traveled down before asking them what there dong in Brodgar. ;) )

If you have open city and people have palisades, they will keep dying and quiting. New people will join and make palisades, get raided again and quit. Probably Brodgar wont have so much people to confront raiders by themselves.

I see posibility here, that some kind of help comes or if citizens just start making bricks all together, so all plots get brickwalled and secured. Another large industry area built (maybe underground?) + secured, like 20+ ovens, 10 smelters, few kilns. All this with brick walls + CR access to people that know how to use such things and gain trust from LS/chief.

Only then the town can start living and progressing. That is only my point of view.

Guard: I offered help long time ago to both leaders, so they know how/where to contact me if things are needed and I have crazy working people behind my back who are able to make some dreams come true. All we would need is a manpower, which Brodgar should have.

I've made a little tourist tour in brodgar recentrly and i think ramones is right, you should listen him and take the help he offers.

I would add that personnal bw should also have a CR to exit or ppl will keep losing keys.

Also there is a lack of wood everywhere around, you need some CR's to go further, or to plant a mass of low q trees. Even a palissade would be a too hard work for a noob now.

I was surprised that there are almost no public zones or infrastructures, i think you need them (as ramones said maybe a bw'ed industry).

I'll help Ramones to furnish some goods if something takes place with him (ramo contact me then)

Good luck!

Ramones, i understand that you mean it in good way, i really appreciate it, but i am not sure, that this is possible in city like Brodgar. Its not "classic" village, where "everyone" works for good of village. Its open city, where anyone can go in and live there. Some people are social, some individual, some griefers, etc. Building brick wall would be good for safety, but it will kill idea of Brodgar like open city, and still i am not sure, that it would help with life in Brodgar.

I have been citizen of Brodgar almost from start of the server (few days after start). I didnt know anyone, but find there a lot of nice people. Unfortunately most of them not playing anymore (bored, killed). But i have to say, that maybe all people who i know and died in Brodgar did something "wrong", like ingnoring safety rules or leaving scents.

Living in Brodgar is little specific, but as Blood Raven said, its not so problematic. Older players know what to do and new players have to be little social and communicative and there are a lot of people willing to help. For example i have never been metalworker, but i was able to get all metal what i needed (included wi for bwall) just from trading for various things like food, leather, wax, bone glue, etc. Mostly items what are not hard to get for new players.

I would say, that Brodgar is ok as it is. It probably never will be like classic village, but with open migration policy its not possible.

As I already stated, I like open city idea but for it to work, its what I said next, all plots would need bwals and CR systems. Maybe that is first step towards safety. Brickwall every plot that doesn't have walls yet and make CRs, so people don't need to walk on the streets to reach one destination or another?

It would require some CR materials, but thats the thing where others can hop in to help.

Brickwall every plot is problematic. First person who should care about plot safety is his owner. And in fact a lot of them really dont care. Fluctuation of population is a problem too. Plot above me changed owner maybe 5 times. Every owner build roundpole fence as maximum. A lot of other plots are similar. Is worth to build bricks walls for those people ? In Brodgar are few people who live there from start and have done a lot of hard work. But they cant do all for everyone.

I plan to make more time for Brodgar, just been busy IRL as it seems. A lot of problems I've been trying to fix, such as planning a plantation and stuff like that for trees, it's just time really and lacking motivation to play.
