you do bring up an interesting point however, in spite of salem being the better game by far many people in second world eastern european countries (like russia, ukraine etc which seems to make up 35 - 40% of both games populations) will not play salem due to being unable to afford cash shop items and the percieved advantage they give no matter how inconsequential said purchases really are.

Stalls were overpowered for a very long time(couldn't care less if they are not so now too, given that Salem is dead). It affects how easily you can setup multiple villages, create disposable claims, etc.

Russians did very well on Roanoke and Plymouth, using the "zerg" advantage you dislike so much.

Finally: location of stand matters a lot, something you should know if you played the trading game. Glennfinnan had the best spot in Plymouth and his earnings were far higher than any other merchant in Plymouth no matter how he priced his items (i.e. higher than the other people or slightly lower or matching).

stalls being overpowered or not is completely irrelevant when anybody could have gotten one for over a week of server up, or the twice they added extras since then.

Location matters, you are ignoring that :D. Not to mention that the competition was then limited to correspond to the amount of stalls in the server. Given that some "carebears" bought their stalls, they effectively eliminated spots for people who would actually given people a run for their money.

And yeah, grinding crickets like mad for X hours during the start of the of world to get one of the 6-8 stalls there were isn't exactly something everyone can do due to responsabilities outside of the game.

I was cheering for you until you got to "responsibilities out of the game". Nobody cares about that.
Let me take it from here; What's wrong about stalls and money is that people who can pay money for silver will eventually take over all or most of the stalls before most of normal players can't even think about stalls.

It is a matter of bad design. Loftar and Jorb made stalls extremely powerful. So powerful that either you are one of the few to get them during the early server race or you can forget about being someone of decent power. It limits the competition, which is unnecessary. This is one reason for why H&H is far more competitive.

Stalls did not exist when Plymouth was launched and it was not until a long time later that they were introduced there. That's, in my opinion, one reason for why Plymouth was so competitive and did so well for a long time.

I made a lot more money without a stall, than I do with a stall. Stalls just made it a little easier and gave you more time to do other things. Plymouth is the least competitive of the 3 servers now.

Are you holding to this post 'Slave Master' since he killed Waffles and your main on Jamestown and is now dressing your displayed corpses in random funny hats, in his "Church of Corpses"?

lolololololololololololololololololol

There's about 30 people (salems population) that agree with you.

This only means that the amount of competitive Jamestown players was relatively small [really small, if anyone asked me]. With a proper amount of competitive players it should be a matter of seconds/minutes [assuming that it's possible to purchase silver right on a start of the server and you get it directly after the server opens, Im not really sure if thats possible though] for people to rent all the stands.
Eventually, a group of 5-10 people who wanted to get some REAL advantage could try to rent all the stands to gain a massive advantage [stand monopoly], even if theyre not going to use all of the space, but are going to sell as much as possible.
Stands definitely ARE overpowered as long as theres a limited amount of them. Location does make a bit of a difference, but in my opinion it's not relevant enough.

But in the end...Haven>Salem.
Haven - a place where anyone can own a stand.
