I call bullshit, you are not really sorry. It is just an excuse you use to justify your choices. A methodology you use to be able to look yourself in the mirror without feeling disgust.

You knew the risks with involving your "friends"; you could have planned things to minimize the risk, but nooo that would be too hard work and too inconvenient for you, right? It is better to choose to be blissfully ignorant and then later on say "I'm sooo sorry" if things go wrong. The worst part is that you probably even believe that you are sorry lol.
