The Great Road

Postby Yolan » Sat Jun 08, 2013 2:43 am

In W6 I noticed some people constructed a bloody long road north and south through a few supergrids which I stumbled upon once.

How about a great road for W7? Brodgar is along the edge of an Eastern supergrid, so if anybody is interested they could start from us, and move westwards, perhaps using XCom style bridges to cross the rivers.

A super project like that would be great but there are way too many griefers at the moment. You wouldn't get any work done.

Good idea to connect all major cities, actually this might work out after some people decide to protect the bridge from highwaymen, which I suspect to be wild russians, 'muricans and koreans

I will help with this when the time comes. I actually settled on the border between 2 grids for the purpose of building a road for travelers between them :)

Carts need roads to be efficient, meanwhiel Wagons' speed isn't limited by the terrain you're on, and honestly if you're in a SG's edge your only trouble is the trees and other path blocking objects, which a few bots could remove easily.

Roads would be good to actually "point" out where the cities are, but you can use milestones for the same purpose.
