Knights of the Order of Brodgar

And the hearthlings frolicked merrily, tended their gardens, read newspapers, and all was well. The end? Right. Brodgarians and friends of Brodgar, you don't need to be a seer to know that winter is most definitely coming.

So who will protect us? We have several villagers who can hunt, fight, range and organise themselves. This is well and good. Perhaps the best we can do given the nature of Brodgar is of largely independent people grouped together. 'Brodgar' has no resources, no mines, no supplies, no army. There are only Brodgar residents.

I don't want this to change. But what if there was another way? For example, what if people who are capable of protecting Brodgar residents and want to protect honest people got together in a more organized fashion?

I think such an order would need something like...

1. A basic oath of key principles that all members swear to uphold or be banished.
2. A system of communication for group organization (i.e. vent/skype etc.)
3. A base in the Brodgar region (for example, along the new road going out of town, maybe near the lakes).
4. A cool symbol. ;-)

This group could not only protect Brodgar, but patrol along the great road protecting hermits, and hitting any groups in the region with an established reputation for picking on little guys.

I think such a group would get quite a bit of support in terms of supplies from Brodgar people. The only question is are there people who can fill the role who are interested. I have neither the time nor the skill, but I thought I would at least put out the suggestion.

The general idea is of course good. However this is HnH. People will probably try to take those knights out as fast as they can just because you made this public now. To prove themselves or whatever...

You might be better off organizing defenses without making it public.

Let's hope I am wrong though and there is more good and also combat capable players out there than I am aware of.

Agree'd with Burg, I had already planned this for the village but I have yet to mention it to you.

It's a good thing that they don't exist then. ;-) I will keep myself intentionally ignorant of any future concrete developments.

Brodgar is a wonderful place to live. I may not be a warrior but when the horn sounds to defend Her, I will lay my life on the line.

I also agree with burg and snacky on this one yolan, we should stay quiet about the defence of brodgar, and keep it all in house

This sounds interesting but you've chosen a rather unfortunate acronym.
