Trapped! Help!

Postby beestworz » Sat Sep 21, 2013 7:35 pm

I parked my temporary camp next to a claim someone had established. I've been playing with this character for a week or so and haven't seen any of my neighbors active. I simply didn't realize it could be perceived as rude to build a camp next to a claim. This (I'm assuming little kid) put a fence around me and increased the scope of his claim to envelope me entirely. Now I have no known way of escaping. I've put a fair amount of hours into my character and so naturally I was angry to find I had been put into a concentration camp to die. I start insulting him and he says "Well, I was going to let you out but now..." Yeah right. So, to the point, is there any way I can recover my character from this mess? Can somebody please help me?

If and when I get out I'm going to camp far away from this wretched nightmare of a neighbor.

well, i hate it too when someone new just starts building a small camp too close to another settlement...oh wait, not even close but next to someone's claim? that is indeed... horrible, and i might do the similar if you caught me in a real bad mood, feeling really mean.
next time, explore around first before setting up your camp unless you decide to grief your neighbors on purpose.

for now, as you say you actually have put enough amount of hours into your char, destroy your hearth fire, pack valuable things up in your inventory, and respawn in the wilderness.
or be nice to your neighbor and beg for his/her forgiveness so he or she could actually let you go?
or as i see that you seem to have no claim yourself, maybe the hours you think you have spent are not that much to lose and moan, and possibly much easier to make a new character and spawn elsewhere.

p.s.
adult language? lolwhut? its more like a kid language to me... not many get bothered with that mild swearing in these forums, id recommend you to get rid of that warning in the title.

That's great advice and I appreciate it, but I think there's a problem. Since I'm within his claim, I don't think I'm able to destroy objects (including my hearth fire.) I just tried and it wasn't working, just kept indicating that "This land is owned by ???"

You'd need Vandalism skill and turn criminal acts on . The problem is: you'll loose health (you already did looking at your screen). So the best you can do is appologize to your neighbours, ask them to set you free, get far away from there and at a new spot don't make the same mistake again...

I've already cussed him out pretty extensively and I think I'm too proud to apologize to this guy. I guess I can understand why his actions were so hostile, but I still don't think he did the right thing. Is it a possibility that if someone gives me a hearth fire secret I can spawn elsewhere? If that's a possibility, I'm going to hold out for that. Otherwise I'll probably build a new character or just take a break from the game a while.

A HS won't help you with your char as you only can spawn there with a fresh char...

If you're too "proud" it's your own fault - prolly it wouldn't have been a problem for them to instantly kill your char but instead gave you a chance to get out of that situation in a very friendly manner...

he actually did, because you wouldnt play near him ever again, i suppose. its just that you learned it the hard way and you wouldnt repeat the same mistake either, right? besides, you may think twice before starting to insult others from now on, too!

anyways, build a new char. you cannot respawn by others hearth secret after you spawned your char.

aw, ninja'd.

It stopped being very friendly the second I woke up in a concentration camp and read the words "Hope you fucking starve." On which planet is that a friendly thing to say? Anyway, I think I screwed up my char's stats so a fresh start couldn't hurt.

In retrospect, I realize that cussing him out was poor strategy, but you live and learn.
