Seeking breeding pair of cattle, willing to travel[Resolved]

Postby Catfish » Mon Feb 23, 2015 3:26 am

Hello!

I'm fairly new, and unable to domesticate aurochs. I'm hoping someone friendly might have an extra cast-off cow and bull that I can trade for.

Looking at the trade forums here makes me realize that I have basically no chance of trading anything valuable at all, but I will offer whatever I can. My things tend to be around quality 20, occasionally up to 40.

I'm happy to travel anywhere within the red circle. PM me!

After watching our best ranger get curb stomped (to death) by a herd of aurochs, yes, I have that attitude. Still, the game would be a lot more fun for me if I had some cattle.

You can domesticate them from a boat, just get the +3 advantage from invocation of skuld + call down the thunder. Then do consume the flames and quell. Remember to boat to safety between moves

Keep one of the herd you won't tame alive and sling it after every quell, it will redraw aggro on the one you're taming for a faster tame.

Wont they just run away between attacks? Also, with a whole herd, that seems incredibly dangerous. One slip up and I get knocked out and the whole herd gets a change to trample me to death. I'm not familiar with the combat system at all, especially when it comes to anything other than archery. I'd probably get the timing wrong, unless I could watch a video of someone doing it.

Aurochsen never flee.

It takes a little getting used to to use moves on a target on shore from a boat, you're best off practicing on a boar/fox or having a friend spar you and sit on the shore.

You can also have a friend sit in the back of your boat and spar him get your def bar up between attacks minimizing the damage you take from the aurochsen

Can't hurt to give it a try with the boar/fox, I suppose. Thanks for the info. I'm still looking to trade though, unless I manage to tame a few first.

The good thing with Aurochs is you can fence them in with signs (you can't with boar)

There's enough guides + hints about taming at forums go search

good luck
