New Player Item Point Thread

Postby drygult » Wed Jul 10, 2013 1:27 am

Hi, im pretty new to hnh as i started almost at the beginning of world 7. I would like to know what each item is worth in points as the point system seems to be the way people trade, which is awesome in my opinion, it makes things so much simpler if you add subtract and multiply smaller numbers.

so if people can, can anyone or everyone tell me items and prices of items people want and trade for or trade off? that way i may go about starting my trading with an idea of how much things are worth and not waste anyones time by offering something that i think would be precious to me but not to anyone else. for example qualitypoop water for qualityawesome water. i know poopwater isnt as good as awesome water but its better if i ask first so then i dont make anyone rage because im tryin to get awesomewater for my poopwater. just an example.

This would be good for new players who are also looking to trade also.

Points are arbitrary based on the seller, the quality of the item, the rarity of the item, how hard it is to defend said item, etc, etc. You can figure out the point system by reading. English, do you speak it, etc, etc, etc. It's generally accepted that a pearl is 50 points, so there's a landmarker for you.

Shocked Frog 60pts
Pearl 50pts (worth 60-70 points early world, but usually only over certain trades)
Flotsam 20pts
Boletes 8-10pts

Those are the fairly standard point values that I see.

Just look at few trade threads and you will see prices are mostly the same for what people are taking as curio payments, so you can get a hold of this information.

You need to be more specific about which items you're pricechecking so we can try to help or guess

Right now we don't know what items you might be buying or might be selling in your thread you might be making.

poopwater made me laugh though :)

OH ya sorry about not mentioning the items.

Say

Soil
Cavebulb
Glimmermoss
Flotsam
Steel
Wrought Iron
Gold
Silver
Bolete
Bears
Deer

Im not too sure exactly what uhh is worth anything here so i was kinda asking what items you all thought were good and what the minimum quality would be.

like a random list of items you all trade for or that people only trade for. i know silver and gold are precious as im trying to get some.

for instance i have steel but its around 10-15 quality.

wrought i have around 15-17 quality and i noticed no one really cares for bronze.
i see that bears are worth a lot which is cool since i can just grab bears easy, and deer as well
(btw can you put deer and bears in boats so they dont decay?)
anyway the things above is mostly what i have

Ok here are my guesses, someone else can feel free to correct me

Soil - depends greatly on quality. Anything below q60 is worthless for trading. Value doubles or triples every +10q or so... so you really have to say what q
Cavebulb - 3~6 pts each
Glimmermoss - 2~3 pts each
Flotsam - 20 pts each
Steel - 20~25 pts each
Wrought Iron - 5~10 pts each
Gold - depends on competition
Silver - depends on competition
Bolete - 5 pts each
Bears - 50 pts each
Deer - 10~20 pts each but people rarely exchange these

The thing about gold and silver is you either have zero or you have way too much, so price isn't a very steady thing

No, you can't prevent animal flesh decay with boats.

Doesnt matter the quality for steel or iron? i know you use steel for brickwalls since i made one like 2 weeks ago or something but i do use it for armor and swords and strongboxes.

i feel silver and gold is worth a lot to me though because i went into the second level of the cave aha and i cant break anything even with boar snuff and full bear stuff on(136str+quality 40 snuff+wine = miserable fail) i should have picked somewhere easier to mine maybe that had a factor on what was below or maybe level 2 is always that hard to break through.

I want to make jewelry thats why im interested in silver and gold.

i make steel every 3 days so i figure steel for some gold and silver is awesome possum.

I also get lots of glimmermoss as im in the mines all day, my buddy forages but has been sick so no flotsam or id be trading that a lot to people here. no pearls yet sadly.

The price I gave was for low quality steel or wrought. For higher quality steel I'm not sure on the price but I know it takes a ton more effort because of fuel costs. You gotta have high quality trees to work with and a deep iron vein. If you're new and still progressing your mine system / tree farm I would stick to making and selling low quality steel. Many people are willing to buy it because every village could use brickwalls and statues.
