Well, we finally have all the supplies for a Ram, and now are awaiting the cows to spawn. Since most of our villagers have left, we needed a new farmer. and after much curio stuffing, I have a beginning farm character. We harvested the some of the fields and notice our Q is only in the 40's(except for carrots, so at least he was on top of the carrots) but then again since i'm new to farming, mayby our ground is bad?(q20ish)

so lookin to trade some seed.

Sadly I'm in the same position as you with crops, but I noticed those chickens. Not to derail the thread, but anything else you'd be wanting for a couple of chickens? Bear, flotsam, bluebell perhaps?
