Selling (on donation) - brick slave

Postby Mernil » Wed Sep 24, 2014 2:43 pm

Right, I'm selling a cute slave, running around, digging acre clay, putting it in kilns, and stacking bricks in brickwall-cornerposts signs.

I want 30 pearls out of it. Once I reach my donation goal I'll publically release my brick bot.
Donators of 5 pearls and above will have :
- immediate access to the source-code of the bot
- help with the bot setup.
- access to any upgrade of the bot

Current donation status : 20 pearls

Skype : l.thomas.sk

Note that I wouldn't usually sell scripts, though I'm back into the game and need some stuff.

Requirements :
Union client.
A chair
BW-CP signs to stack bricks in them
Kilns (derp).
A shovel, equipped.

Does :
- Dig clay.
- Rest on chair.
- Replace bricks in kilns with clay (or simply put clay in kilns).
- When inventory full of bricks, stacks them in signposts.
- Repeats...
- Manage 6 kilns fully (7 is a bit too much).

Doesn't :
- Eat
- Fuel the kilns

So basically you run this toon and he gathers bricks for you.
You still have to check on it every hour or so to feed him and fuel the kilns.

Union bots are so expensive?

Hmm... well then...

Global announcement: If you want a specific bot adapted to your needs, PM me the description and the payment. We can discuss if it is doable, how and when.

That's some quality bot.
Plus you don't have to pay the full price, you can have it for 5 pearls (as mentioned).
It's just that it goes public when donation reaches 30 pearls.

If you mean "quality" as "difficult to make" then any undergrad on a technical university could do that within a day :)

Also the 6 kilns limit is a mystery to me. If you just load the kilns into an array and cycle them with the LX offset path finding, it could manage a lot more and in a reasonable time.

Did you write it yourself?

Doesn't everybody already have a brick bot?

By quality I mean that there is error handling. The bot won't crash. I'm a professional developer by the way.
The kilns are loaded into an array and cycled through. What takes time is digging and resting.

Though as you can see on the picture I had my signposts south the kilns.
With those to the west it's fairly faster, and it handles the seventh kiln (less path-finding).

And yes, I wrote it myself.

Just read your brickmaker1.3 script.
Not bad, but why would it require to have branches stored in cupboards for the fuel ?
I mean, at least store wood blocks and then split them into your inventory.
Or even better, use palisade corner-posts to store the blocks.
Having to manually fill cupboards of sticks seems as annoying as actually making the bricks...

A donation of ~960 points is pending.

I require 540 more points to be donated for the public release of the bot.
