NOTE: Please, do not PM me about joining the town. It is always open. You don't need to ask me. Just use a public hearth secret from below and spawn. If none work, say so on this thread. Oathing is on condition of being in town, and working on a plot for a while.
WARNING
As Brodgar has no surrounding wall, and as anybody may hence come and go as they please, it is necessary to understand that this brings with it risks of being stolen from, griefed, and killed. This is the price we pay for having an open town.
It is important that you take steps to look after your safety. The best step is to live somewhere else. Failing that, consider following these simple rules.
1. Make a wall as soon as possible.
2. Don't idle outside your house. You might get shot.
3. Make multiple characters. You should not be walking around much gathering wood and so on with a character which has good stats.
4. Get on the town skype chat and keep an ear out for warnings of raids.

You are free to come at any time and settle on a piece of open land. Anything different to 25x25 is unwelcome and may be subject to declaiming by the law speaker. Houses and walls may be bashed if you do not follow the city plan (See here http://puu.sh/36CS3.jpg). Wierdly shaped plots which throw surrounding organization out of wack and deprive new residents of prime land will be dealt with.

Please note that being authorized as a member of the village with keep access will depend upon a few conditions.
- That you have active plot in town. For example, a few hours work at least. A fence if not a palisade. A lean-to if not a house. (Village authority does not extend over the whole area, so this is not a problem. If it ever does become an issue, we will change the policy.)
- You help out a bit around town for a few hours, paving roads etc.
- That you promise not to murder/thieve/steal from either fellow Brodgarians or our neighbours. We will not harbor or protect people who cause trouble in the land.
About Brodgar
In World 6, Brodgar was probably the largest settlement in Haven and Hearth, with over one hundred claimed plots. It had no surrounding wall, and no restrictions on who may join (hence the size). This world we are doing it again. The main difference is that we have added a nice large keep in the center for housing an idol, village trade stalls, and some parkland. It will also functions as a bolt hole in the case of raids, and to promote people coming in to trade from other villages using the typical oathing method. Everything outside the keep is the usual set up of private land and roads, allowing for easy expansion of the town and seamless movement from 'inside' to 'outside' the town. Also, instead of 20x20 sized plots, we have 25x25. The one size fits all 5 tile road has also been replaced with a street system.
If you are new to the game, this town offers a great opportunity to make friends, learn basic mechanics, and receive assistance in the form of basic equipment, seeds, and so forth. If you are an experienced player who just likes to do things on their own, Brodgar offers a balance of community and independence.
Upon spawning in Brodgar, one of the first things you will need to do is set up a plot. Plots must be exactly 25x25 tiles in size, and need to be located properly according to the town plan. Use Ender's client with Cntr G and Cntr L functions to help with this. Make sure your plot location/size has been confirmed by somebody else in town before building permanent structures. Offending claims may be subject to removal/destruction at the whims of the town management.
