Brodgar One, Two and Three have been refreshed.

Enjoy the town in its giant, crumbling majesty. ;-)

You shouldn't have any trouble finding nice people to give you stuff to start out with.

I'm not sure why anyone lives there. It's resource short and way overcrowded. You need order in order and a militia/police force in order to keep the city together. You need a leader, something brodgar dosen't have. It's just a loose conglomeration of anarchic barbarism, murder, and most of all, trolling.

No. It's a bad idea that has survived somehow for 6 (?) worlds, whose inevitable desertion/ destruction has failed to provide the proof Yolan requires to stop inflicting such atrocities onto new players who have no idea the danger they are being put in.

The leaders are more accountable for what the players of Brodgar have (had) to deal with than the ones who will inevitably target a place so well known and poorly defended. They have repeatedly inflicted this upon helpless new players, knowing full well the end result but refusing to see (or simply not caring about) the countless people that have been chased away from the game because of it.

I used to like Yolan, and his naivete. His dreams and goals for Brodgar were impressive. They unfortunately failed to take into account the community and the game itself.

Lol. So you don't like me now? Ouch.

The nature of the town is stated in the initial post of the thread. If people choose to live there, they do so having been warned. If they are too lazy to read the warnings, that is not my concern. The idea is not to trick people into suffering, but to try and do something fun. This game is quite merciless for new people starting out as hermits, most of whom get killed and quit, or get bored and quit. Living in Brodgar is kind of like an alternative to living as a hermit, not necessarily an alternative to living in a serious settlement.

W6 Brodgar started out after the world was already like a year old, and had quite a fun period of flourishing for a few months. So, I wouldn't be surprised if W7 Brodgar has more periods of fun times ahead of it.

I dont think so, that new people starting in Brodgar have worse start than hermiting alone. I think that opposite is true. A lot of people in the town are friendly and willing to help. When i started in Brodgar, few people help me with first steps there. I got seeds, tools and most important a lot of hints to start. I have helped people in Brodgar too, but they have to be little social and try to communicate with others and help others when needed.

When new player will start as hermit, he is usually alone. No one give him anything. If he doesnt read forum and wiki, he is lost and no one can give hint to him. So his progress is slow. When he will be lucky, he will meet friendly people or he will stay alone and keep small farm for some time. Worse scenario is, that he will meet people who steal from him or kill him.

Everyone in Brodgar can have own plot, so its similar to hermiting. Positive thing is, that there are people who can help him. Negative thing is, that Brodgar is public place and not all people are friendly. But i think that there are only minority of griefers. Usually helps just ignoring them. Maybe someone has got imagination, that there are raids almost everyday in Brodgar. But its not true.

I was blamed for taking a high quality set of bones. I did not take anything from anyone. The only bones i have are q10 and those I got from rams that someone killed for me. Then some people decided to kill me. All three of them were in the village. I know this because they knew who i was. This is a post to Snacky saying that i am innocent and would never steal from any one in the village because up until now they have all been nice to me.
