Returning player looking for a village

Hi all. As I said in the topic I've played in world 6 for a few months but ended up getting tired of the grind as a hermit and quit. Before a quit I had a respectable hermitage with mine access and a farm (I had a main and 2 alts). I'm just returning to the game and so far I made myself a boat and have just been sailing around looking for a place to settle. I'm thinking that maybe if I join up with some other people this game will feel like a bit less of a grind. Also as a starting character I'd prefer grouping with a newish village if possible, but if not I'm sure I'll fit in in a more establised town too. Oh almost forgot I'm in GMT -06:00 (central timezone US).
