my advice is to drop the rent thing. the only people whose protection and infrastructure is valuable enough are the large factions. you are not that.

also, "low rent" implies that its cheap compared to the standard. however the standard is NO rent.

I'm sure there must be some misunderstanding here. What are they getting for their 'rent'?
You can't surely be asking people to pay you to help you build your village, lol.

Like kralmir says, once the village is up and standing and secure you could try asking for rent in return for safety or for being part of an active working village with all it's rewards, but prior to that ................
