German placement of the server makes for slightly better latency to various parts of the planet where we have players.

yes there are a lot of polish players and germany is also closer to USA than finland is! this is a good choice!

Most players are from Russia, right? So their pings would most likely decrease!
A few years ago they built a new underwater data cable, straight from Finland to Germany. So ping would not increase that much for people in that direction.
Maybe you can still switch the server to Finland!
