Please not this one. Literally deciding the rest of the world based on who got lucky during a 20 minute mistake will cause a lot of players to lose interest I think.

yeah that'd kinda kill a lot of the playerbase's interest.

and a rollback would just make me angry and feel like the laziest option

Changing something like quality around without a backup was pretty stupid.

They should use rollbacks more often because stuff like this can ruin an entire world.

Indeed it was. Won't happen again. Apologies.

The problem with the initial formula is that there was no ore on level 5 that was less than Q100.

There are three options.

  • Rollback to monday.
  • Revert to initial formula.
  • Leave things as they are now and let the chips fall where they may.

How is that any different than palisade costs update in the first days of the world, or unlimited and free pc claims for the first weeks? Lots of players were left behind because of those and other changes.

Can't you just nuke any ore and metal above q80?

I think the currently implemented ore formula is fine, the toned down version after the second down.

The problem is the legacy ore hanging around.

Me dumb, nvm.

Reinstate OP formula, let this be an experiment to see how the world progresses. See if the pace of progression is generally satisfying. Or just roll back to Monday, then take another shot at fixing ore qualities the same way it worked in old haven, with it going up by 10s as you go down layers.

Backups on updates like this would be nice even if we had to wait an hour.

Is it possible to revert the ore without rolling back? Because I REAAAAALLLY don't want a roll back, but while I was out grabbing dinner apparently everyone else grabbed oodles of insane ore.
