The lower quality the horse the less pony power, and it can throw you off its back. Horses need to be expanded on anyways. Raising their quality should matter more, being near fights should scare them. The smell of blood could make them run unless they are trained in warcraft. Just some ideas to make them more interesting. I didn't really think these out but they don't all seem unreasonable.

Your ideas are just unequalizing the horse advantage around the server. If some people will have q 10 horses, and some other could have q 60, people with q 60 horses will stump the first group. The problem is the balance. The key problem with the horses are:
1. They are finite and depend on q. So, if your horse is better, you'll be able to chase the person who is escaping eventually. Whereas if 2 hearthlings with equal stats are involved in a chase (one chasing another), the chase can continue forever. J&Lo has attempted to balance this with letting people to regain the pony power via hearth magic.

2. Your horse can be attacked and scared off, so you'll lose it and get surrounded. On the other hand, you can dismount the enemy riders (another balancing update by the devs).

Jesus_Smith_Nandez wrote:Noobs who probably have to work hardest to gain their stats have pretty much no chance for state funeral where as powerful players now have more of an advantage since they can just use their realm to get their shit back even faster, when they were gaining stats faster anyway. It makes it even more impossible to catch up when even dying puts powerful players back less and less. Think of the noobs.

The noobs could never compete in terms of PvP in politics. The only way they'd have is to join some other force or become friends of theirs (like you). The funeral buff encourages the players to join the kingdoms at least for the sake of minimizing the damage from their death.

no (sane) amount of gold or silver is worth 30% skill value of a good character. With the right infrastructure you can get cupboards of gold in just a few days.

Okay sorry I havn't been playing that long so I don't know how valuable high end items are. But a tomb could still be possible if it used rare enough items.

I think the devs should choose to permanently ignore any opinion of someone who utters stuff like this.

Alright, time to write some crits for the devs.

First of all, great job and elegant solution!

However, I've got some things I'm worried or find imbalanced. If I haven't commented something, it means I like it or consider balanced.

Two RL hours after a Border Cairn has been challenged, it can be attacked and destroyed. Destroying a Cairn takes a fair amount of time ~30 minutes
The 2 hours window to respond to a challenge is a bit too slim in my point of view. It normally take as much time to gather a defending party, not to mention that the enemy side might be challenging during your off-peak time. 4 hours feel fine in that case.

Challenges cost 10000 Authority initially

"Last-minute Diplomacy": With some Last-minute Diplomacy you can stall all pending challenges to your Realm's Border Cairns by one hour each. Cost: 5000 Authority per challenged Border Cairn.

I am not sure whether the challenge windows are balanced enough tbh. Needs some testing whether it is really worthy to challenge a claim and lose so much authority.

"State Funeral": By granting a fallen Hearthling a State Funeral, his heirs will receive an additional 30% of his character values as inheritance. Cost: 50000 Authority.
Imho, the 30% stat regain should be possible if the character did not get back his body. That way it is far more balanced imho and encourages people to PvP more.

"Polish the Silver": By Polishing the Silver you may remove all Wear from a symbel item. Cost: 250 XP.
Couldn't skip this one, although I like other implementations a lot. Bravo. :D People will be able to keep using the symbel made out of sculls, rivers pearls and etc., whereas cheaper cutlery would still be used often.

Bows now retain 40% of the aim meter after firing, rather than 0%.

Added "Metal Arrow", duh.

Are you sure this doesn't overbuff archers? Sry Maslov :D

Need to test how much damage they do versus bones, may result top-bone arrows still be the best. I doubt someone can make q 400 metals..

Ideas to balance the funeral thing.

1. The tomb Idea is awesome (suggested by adder1234), requiring a good amount of mats, to help balance, and it would just look badass.

2. It should "take up space" like make it a biggish building so it has meaning and not something people can just spam.

3. Add a cooldown time to how often you can do this for the same char. Not sure how long, hmm maybe a few weeks/month?

4. Doesn't have to be silver and gold for mats... could just be something simpler but at least something to make them not so easy to spam.

could work too (5.) Goo's Idea to have the 30% obtainable only if the body isn't recovered so it would still be the 60% total max. but maybe you could up the % in this case to like 40% so in total it would 70% return of stats max.
Ohhh that's how I make a sig, cool

Oh btw, there should be permissions set up for the kingdoms.

Like, allowing:
vandalism (so kingdom member's wouldn't destroy the royal claim)
accepting alliance (so the realm member couldn't oath anyone to drain the royal authority)
using the royal authority for spells

Also, the realm members' EXP gain should feed into the royal claim whenever the realm member is (outside the realm). Encourages inviting the noobs to the kingdom more and lowering the amount of killspree.

I would just remove the state funeral all together - it's a complete crap idea.

If it has to be in then making big ass tomb at high cost, gold AND pearls would be nice.

Also limit it only to cases of burying corpses with skulls, a corpse without a skull was most likely killed by a nidbane, criminals shouldn't get glorified funerals.
