Toads won't help anymore since animals can apparently attack and kill small creatures in their way. In terms of stats needed, probably dependent on the level the troll spawns, but for now it would be best to stick to archery until higher quality armor appears to really start testing with trolls.


My point was: am I (or, within a reasonable timespan, will I be) able to have a miner build that can survive a troll - or - shall I see miners as disposable since they'll die the moment they uncover a troll and make an alt for mining (which I hate, but I see no point in aiming to kill my main) ?

level refers to the mining level in this instance, ground level has caves to level 1 of mines. build a mining hole on level 1 to get to level 2 and so on. the deepest level is 5

unless you have deep water nearby to cross over or something of the sort

Maybe L1-L2 trolls should be between deer/boar and lynx, then deeper mines should get stronger but as there's too few information is given I doubt that is going to be a good idea.
But - as Granger said - it would be a shame if current miners would have to risk getting killed by a troll which instantly attacks and the miner probably had to be fully armoured and armed in case he would get attacked by a troll just to survive. Trolls IMO kinda discourage people from mining with mains and further push the issue with slave alts.

Sure, I like the challenge but either make them spawn randomly or give time to react when they'll spawn.

Yeah, losing a character like that is BS. Please don't force us to use even more alts, devs.

Even L1 trolls should be stronger than bears. What we need is time for reaction. It's impossible to even throw up defences with the retarded cooldown at the start of fight, which animals don't have, so they can instatly smash your face.

Atleast L1 trolls should be around boar/deer.
