I don't think this GUI addition was 'small' from a development standpoint

Regarding the tangent posts from few pages ago...

Better course of action would've been to just ask "that happened to trying the third option where Forager speed bonus works but Bunny Slippers doesn't? I thought people hated Bunny Slippers being the only PvP viable footwear?"

Based on responses to less-than-ideal suggestion, people seem to generally agree that it is an acceptable trade-off for having skill based chases.

Big agree on (up-to-date) tutorial of any kind. One idea on top of my head is a daily quest where you enter a "nightmare" where a simulated player chases you, and the objective is to drop aggro and use "Travel to Hearth Fire" to wake up happy, which gives some decent minor reward. If the simulated player catches and "kills" you, you gain some scraps based on how far from the starting point you got. (Obvious hole for an exploit; if scraps scale infinitely, and there is no hard cap to how long the "nightmare" can last (simple time limit or chaser slowly becoming faster) guess what will happen...)

Another option would be to allow people to run private instances of Valhalla, so a casual village could go in that instance and divide themselves into two teams, one chasing and one fleeing, to have an actual practice without having to feed/heal/reincarnate 20 rage alts.

I mean... I personally hate the credo being mandatory too :D Giving it to everyone by default AND adding a tutorial would be the best course of action bcs it would make the mechanic have an ingame explanation with no gating (so no situations like "oh you need to have forager credo or you get fucked"). Perhaps making rabbits not special (them being special is kinda cool tho) and boosting a lil bit every other critter idk. I would just be happy if chase speed was still a thing without needless gating through credos/items bcs that leads to the funny moment in the first week where someone has forager and you were too lazy to get it so you get fucked.

Also tbh, valhalla is usually empty enough ppl won't fuck with you if you want to go there and fuck around with your squad, the issue being there is no critters, no rivers hence no boats, no horses, and so on and so on.

I doubt a steam release is really very viable for H&H for so many reasons, would love to be proven wrong though.

Single server struggles on wipe day enough as it is. steam release would see instant "overwhelmingly negative" from the flood of "I can't log in" reviews.

Ofcourse multiple/clustered servers would reduce that

Let me be clear, I don't really have strong opinions about this one way or another. But the fact that people discussing this topic haven't corrected this point feels bad faith.

Bunny Slippers aren't "the only viable PvP footwear" and haven't been since somebody programmed a client advantage which is now necessary for any PvPer: There is no cooldown or action block for swapping footwear. Every private PvP client seamlessly swaps into bunny slippers the split instant you click a rabbit and the client puts back on your armor providing shoes the instant you click off the animal.

This lets those chosen few with a PvP client benefit from both the armor and the rabbit speed. Although I don't really care all that much if bunny slipper speed bonus (distinct from forager) stays or goes, if it does stay it should probably be merged with forager just to eliminate custom client advantage, or the feature should be added to vanilla client.
