Agreed, you need a few moves before it even becomes a viable option. Ants are too strong in my opinion as are bats and these two enemies should be the early game creatures that we're getting our first few moves from.
It's not a very good system when it is easier to kill a fox/badger/boar/deer to get your first moves than it is an ant or bat.

That's probably the thing you're missing. Armor is absolutely essential in the current combat system. Fighting without armor is like swimming without drinking to full stamina beforehand; of course it's going to result in disaster if you don't prepare.

I'm not wasting my leather on armor lol I need to make a minehole because they fucked us with coal, also backpacks and palisades and any of the other shit you need before armor.

VDZ wrote:Palisade, yes. Leather backpacks are optional (I still haven't made mine), and armor is WAY higher priority than it used to be. Once you have armor you can kill bats, which gives you easy hides, which in turn becomes leather, in addition to other hunting gains. Mineholes are not necessary, you can just use a tar kiln. Yes, you won't be able to make metal as fast or as high quality this early as you used to be. That's entirely intentional.

Because right now killing a fox is only possible on biomes you can actually catch up to him, if he manages to run then he will keep on running forever -_-
