Honestly, i don't see the point of the change then.
Why take such drastic actions on something that wasn't affecting you? People made a funny joke (in their eyes), and you've stripped them of their achievment. Literally, the entire kingdom is not fully theirs anymore. If i had my name stolen and changed to a mere flower, i'd be pissed.
It's not like they can change the name back to something decent (or indecent) now.

People having dumb names for things is part of the game. Names with wingdings and other stupid smileys were in the game as long as i remember it.
If you don't like it — remove the support for unicode and give a namechange option to people.
If you don't like rude names — have forum mods manually approve every name ingame as the claim dries.

What a weird whimsy.

It's pretty easy to do, though. The "emoji set" starts at a certain value and goes up through the end of the 32 bit range. Pretty much all world languages and special characters for them are encoded in the lower 16 bits. I won't swear that there aren't odd things in that lower half (which is where the "wingding" set is IIRC) as I'm not looking through the set right this moment, but from what I recall the last I read up on UNICODE and the emojis a while back, there are well defined ranges for specific languages, characters, and such.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Did not know that, but good to know. That being said, I'm not 100% that it should be banned. Not like there isn't plenty of dumb decorative stuff you can write even with only ASCII.

  • Began work on, but did not finish, support for multiple bounding boxes of varying type, and of polygonal shapes, which would be useful for various things, like making better approximations of round objects, and having contextual bounding boxes for various things like dungeon creatures and such (you could, perhaps, walk through them but not put them into unreachable positions inside other objects, for example). One could perhaps even imagine trellises having no walk bounding box, but still prevent spamming a million of them in the same spot. Imagine that.

this is pretty epic will this apply to animals/stockpiles? especially the animals part (FUCK bats/slimes/rats and every single livestock in this game)
shame this got outshined by the realm name change.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

while i don't appreciate the stance of devs enforcing their views on the player, i do respect the stand of devs not taking player's shit while lying down

Not like that's going to stop people from living in the realm of '♪┏(・o・)┛♪┗ ( ・o・) ┓' though.

I meant to say, but forgot whilst reading all the other stuff, lol, love the addition of the stoat (could also add weasels). Am curious as to how dangerous you have made them, they don't usually attack humans but there have been cases when they have been cornered. :)

Yeah, they're little assholes once you get them into combat

Super fast and have pretty high agility for a glorified squirrel

Thankfully you can kill them with one sting.

One thing that's interesting is the ones ingame right now are brown instead of white
