NineWorlds post from the P2P thread. Everyone should see this (especially you "inaccurate opinion" shills).

Although I suppose that's a good reason you're a game developer, although I would make a recommendation to hire on a third member to do your finance deals; as the two of you together are not highly capable to do such deeds.
Everyone is pointing out the same aspect that this came out of no where and that the prices are simply to high to match what you are giving us.
The game is an ALPHA game, and now that you have simply came out with an honestly new version of the game in reality that makes it a brand new game. This means a brand new alpha, if the old haven was anywhere close to being finished with a few years under it's belt this game will see another 5 or so years before it is even caught to the old haven.
Jorb, stating that you two explained in an interview that there would be Monetized could have meant anything.
This could mean the game would be sold, a subscription, store bought items and so forth.
No one is crying that the game has a subscription fee, they are angry this literally came out of no where regardless of your interview. Your interview was vague, and gave us no direction of what it would actually be. Let's also look at the entire list of fees. Claiming that $6 is the lowest the game can go, if purchased at a full year. Let's repeat this.
A Full Year
No one is going to throw out that kind of money for a year on a game especially one of an alpha state no matter what. Let's also not mention that you two are not quite regular updaters of the game. It would could be months before we even see a new patch to the game most likely knowing the old haven.
So for the break down you want us the players
- to pay a large sub to an alpha game, regardless of price even at $6 dollars, it must be bought for a full year.
- to pay a sub to a game that doesn't see regular updates
- to pay a sub to a game that cannot stop crashing or lagging
- to pay a sub to a game that has little to no content other then to Grind and Survive, there are no other aspects like normal mmo's. ( No quest, no lore. Basic wild life in the game etc...)
this list could probably go on but the bottom line is your game is simply not finished and does NOT under any circumstance stand at a level with higher mmos.
I love haven to death, and would gladly pay a fee, but not on par to what I would have to pay for other mmos of a much higher degree. This game is worth 5 dollars at best for a subscription fee total. No deals such as a full year at 6 a month, or 15 dollars for one month.
WoW = $15
Final Fantasy XIV = $15
Runescape = $10 ( Can buy game time with in game gold so you never have to waste irl money)
EVE = $15
Guild Wars 2 = NO FEE other then buy base game
Lord of the Rings Online = NO FEE other then base game, and if you want to buy things such as new quests packs, which are no more then a pocket full of change.
There are Mmo's that are completely free for a one time base game price or cost 10-15 and are top tier.
So you've based your prices of an alpha game to compete with top games in the mmos franchise.
Again no one in here is mad your game cost, you're a developer giving us a product and we should have to pay, but for the price of a game in it's alpha stage is laughable.
What you should have done was released cosmetics, like you have.
If the game was to have a Fee make it a reasonable price of $5 dollars for a alpha mmo.
Other alternatives to get rid of the subscription fees is to sale the game on STEAM for $15.
Increase the price as the game grew in players, if the game have atleast a 1000 player base growth increase it by 5 dollars. New players who buy the game now pay $20. If the player base grew another 5thousand increase the price.
But this would also mean you have to send out regular weekly updates and patches to the game, and I'm guessing you two wouldn't want to do that.
