the above are the logs i still had on my pc from IRC. subscription based monetization was discussed several times prior to this convo both on the forums and in IRC. on the forums, quite a few players suggested and agreed to go for subscription base. im sorry that many of you werent reading forums when many of us talked about it, but here is the fact that those topics were raised multiple times in the past. Bergzwerg is almost always in #haven, so you can ask him to confirm his own words. (but please dont spam there)

*just in case, im not in the inner party, so the forum talks were definitely on the forums everyone could read from.

if it was so well-known then why the hell no one mentioned that on the list of updates mentioned by the devs? i'm pretty sure i read through all the comments on that thread and there was NO mention of a subscription based system. not even a word about anything relating to that.

So apparently if you don't live on the forums and crawl around an irc from time to time you had to be blindsided by a piss-poor economic model with little room for growth?

Oh well, you live and you learn I suppose. At least they're young.

Would be way to simple to just post it in the announcement forum, huh? Tell everyone you go Pay2Play and the shitstorm wouldnt be here.

Everyone still would have complained. People should pay up or shut up. If this game progresses I'm signing up for a Silver Memebership next year and if it progresses even farther I will get the gold every following year after that. That's how good this game can be. And already is to some extent.

In my opinion. Why not go back to the old Haven if you don't like the setup for the new one? 15 dollar one time cost for unlimited play.

I think you just answered your own question! :D And only 15 if you only had one account, which a lot people did not.

Yeah get a platinum or diamond membership if you want, or gift them 1000 bucks each month if you can and if you want to. I won't stop you, probably noone would stop you if you really want to.

The Old Haven thing is a little bit tricky, i mean "unlimited" is the word they use for the Free Version of Haven 2 aswell and we both should know that 12 hours a month isnt unlimited. And they can shut down the Legacy server whenever they want so like i said, its tricky.

my point is, if you decide to stay away from where you discuss stuff, dont pretend and say you know it never happened where you werent.

thats why i said to ask Bergzwerg. he would proudly tell you he knew it coming ages ago. *shrugs*

and please stop quoting everything.
