Morpheus: I imagine that right now, you're feeling a bit like Alice. Hmm? Tumbling down the rabbit hole?
Neo: You could say that.
Morpheus: I see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, that's not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo?
Neo: No.

I would pay a flat fee for this game. 49.99. But why pay monthly, especially when Salem the game is very fun and totally free.

I would pay you a flat fee for giving me blowjob forever. 1000 USD. But why pay flat fee or even monthly, especially when I can jerk myself off.

See the funny logic in your wordings?

So can we stop the name calling and ad hominem shit now? Thank you. That goes for both sides of the arguments on the last few pages.

Shouldn't compare Salem with HnH, imo. They are basically the same with slightly different mechanics but in my experience and I don't play HnH as much as Salem, the former gives me more immersion and enjoyment. HnH seems to be more complex in crafting as it has varieties in recipes and ingredients. The grind also feels less monotonous. But back to the main topic, I think that the game is still in Alpha and although devs made a big blunder when going p2p without a proper announcement, there would still be time and space for adjustments. Hopefully the price will be lowered or some other ways of micro transaction that satisfies both sides. Idk, there are already many good suggestions for a fix on the current business model. I myself think that selling 720 hours for players at 10-15 bucks is more reasonable than subscription as the game is very time consuming, a casual player would spend at least 4 hours+ per dayand more on weekend to do chores and level up his/her character so win/win for both. And not to mention that this method would prove useful for when someone's character is murdered or the player gets bored and wants a break so that he/she won't waste his money in unused time in case of subscription. Also, add more cosmetic stuff like some other players had suggested in this thread or the p2p discussion. This way you would maintain a somewhat steady income for yourselves and maintenance of server.

What follows is what happens when games introduce microtransactions instead of Subscription Fees.

"On January 3, 2013, it was announced by AOEO Trajan (Kevin Perry) via the official community blog that Age of Empires Online had finished its development stage and was entering its support phase,[24] and in September 2013 Microsoft Studios announced that the Age of Empires Online servers would be shut down on July 1, 2014.[4] Producer Kevin Perry gave a presentation at the 2013 Game Developers Conference explaining the reasons for AoEO's closure and why he believed its business model ultimately failed, that being mostly due to the content being too expensive to create for the small daily active userbase.[25]"

Just one example from "AAA" studios

Listen to him himself.
