Exactly it should be like battling a world boss in other MMOs. Not something that irritates and frustrates you but something that you want to see and something that you want to fight despite your high chance of death. Making a creature that one-hits miners all day is not what i wanted. i wanted something that me and my village mates would be excited for and prepared for.

That's a better way to word how I feel.

Funny thing about that, though, is that I very clearly recall guilds in EQ camping random spawn mobs 24/7 for days or weeks on end. I'll grant that having access to dozens of people online at the same time over a 24 hour period is greatly helpful. I'll also grant that this isn't 2001 and gaming has changed greatly since then. Nobody camps anything anymore. They just run the weekly raid and be done with it.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I also would like to remind the devs that part of the problem is a half-implemented fix against one-hit-death combat initiation that relied on a human being unable to put up a defense quick enough before the fatal strike? That - apart from the part where you didn't add the delay to the combat script for critters, thus only players get it while critters can still insta-hit, hence one currently has to run away half a screen before initiating combat not to be insta-mauled by fucking everything - actually works?

So please, fix the cooldown so both sides of combat get it (irrelevant if player or wildlife) and it is reasonably long enough so old farts like me have time to react - and won't have to compensate through technical means.

And make sure that trolls are actually survivable (in the meaning of a retreating battle) with a main character geared for mining, to discourage alts? Like combat moves can use mining tools against them, since they're basically walking rocks?

I think this is the perfect opportunity to add a new skill.
Troll science:
"lore text"
You get to build totems out of antlers that ward off trolls. Also gives new troll curio recipes crafted out of troll mats.

Not sure if you are talking about the same thing but taming is still bugged - I've been trying to tame one but missed the window due to no indication, even though I kept checking it and now the horse has despawned even though it was tethered! :x

(WTB tamed horse for brimstone.)
