That's just amazingly weird how it can get two different IP addresses for those domains, since they're just the same CNAME in the DNS. Are you really sure you don't have some weird hosts.txt entry? Either that or a totally broken resolver is pretty much the only way I can explain it, and I can't even fathom in what way the resolver would be broken for that to happen.

Game lacks more weirdly. Sometimes it's smooth, sometimes it's worse.

omg I fixed it. I googled host.txt file and found it in my system32 folder, it was basically an empty file except for 3 lines:

Code: Select all
213.239.201.139 game.havenandhearth.com
116.193.159.74 hk-002.staticnetcontent.com   #added by Windscribe, do not modify.
103.10.197.2 hk-001.staticnetcontent.com   #added by Windscribe, do not modify.

I removed the lines and it works now.

How those lines got there is beyond me. Maybe I added them years ago for some fking custom client or something? I literally have no memory of this but my PC hasnt been reformatted in about 10 years so it wouldnt surprise me.

Soz for all the commotion :P

Last server move you have a man like me tell you to add these lines to make it work, and you do not heed warning of man like loftar who reminds you to remove them later!

For me at least, it still lags with rubber-band-like lag sometimes.
Could be that there are multiple different causes of lag, and I/O was one of them.
I think that some effort should be put to look into other possible causes, and hopefully fix them.

Well, that explains why it did what it did, at least. :)

Lag-wise things seems to be smooth HOWEVER i frequently get a lag spike of doom that last 3-4 seconds where i can't do anything. Everyone around me get it at the same time so it seems to be server-side.

Hope it orons itself out but so far my lag actually seems worse than before. Spike last several seconds instead of just stuttering
