I apologize for my whine, but It was just unfair. The hero in shining armor on a horse, had seen in his life than a fight, was killed by an elephant in 10 seconds without the possibility of escape... maybe this could happen in reality, but its MMORPG. You should have called patch "OTK mammoths are here, better to stay at home" or something like that.

Yeah, if u are alone with bronze sword and learher armor, trying to kill a bear without adequate preparation (but we have bows and boats, so it's not a problem...).

But for fair hunting, without cliffs or boats or etc, someone must tank that difficult animals and someone must deal damage. Now its untankable (within reasonable limits). Or it must be a dozen rangers, who have one volley of arrows to kill the animal? For what then we have melee combat?

Maybe it should be dragons or other magic creatures? Not mammoths, which killed a bunch of naked plebeians with wooden sticks.

p.s. If my message is sometimes not clear, sorry for my english.

Maybe some people could build around regenerating the openings of some group attacks so one member can use them freely? Seems to me like a huge missed oppertunity.

Jorb, can you confirm?

coles is a drunkard. They hit your enemies, of course.

So I've been fighting bats because I'm a dull and boring person, but I'm finding it very hard to keep myself from receiving even the slightest amount of damage whilist damaging them back.

If I use quick jump, I'm in an endless loop of being on the edge of being hit and not being hit, if I use chop I leave myself open, and if I combine both I fall asleep because it's going to take minutes to get enough damage in.

Maybe thats the idea? To remove possibility of perfectly safe way of hunting creatures? I don`t think taking ~5-10 HHP damage on 300 hp character is big deal when killing bat, especially if you can heal most of smaller wounds instantly (or in mater of minutes or hours if you lack medications).

You can either be tedious AF to take no damage from animal or kill it fast and take some minimal damage, partially mitigated by armor and partially healed later.

Started playing just to test it out. Will come back after trying the combat well enough.
Thanks a lot for working hard and keeping trying to make thigs great. I hope you'll listen only to unbiased and weighted critics and ignore all "oh, mommy i cant OHKO that mammoth anymore"

I keep reading these posts from long time combat folks about how this impacts newbies...as someone with the combat skill of a dead turtle I feel like that at least some applies to me, and I went from being able to laugh at a boar in a fight, to a badger becomes one of the secret bosses in a final fantasy game. (IE, really fuckin hard and time consuming). I'd really suggest just...easing up on the armor damaging stuffs, maybe everything doesn't have to eat armor for breakfast. Aside from the fact that armor somehow went from being armor to being a pretty glass decoration, it all seems pretty good.
