Maybe, but we'd like to consider it a bit more at the very least.

Wear on curiosities is weird, but the concept of using Ess/Sub/Vit isn't.

Make one stat reduce XP cost, the next increase LP, and the other reduce mental weight.

Here's a good system: Essence reduces mental weight. At Q40, Essence reduces mental weight by half. At Q90, it reduces by 1/3. At Q160, reduces by 1/4. There's a catch to this later on, stay with me.

Substance decreases study time. At Q40, Substance increases study time by 50%, Q90 at 100%, and so on. It's half, but stay with me.

Vitality reduces XP the same way Essence reduces mental weight. So at Q40, a curio has half XP cost, at Q90 it has 1/3 XP cost, and so on..

Now here's the catch: the AVERAGE quality increases Mental Weight and LP yield. So "unbalanced" curiosities are going to be less useful than "balanced" ones.

But who fucking cares about mental weight. A freshly spawned alt can have 100 int with druid cloak occults and ashen robe. A new player doesnt have them available, but neither does he have high q curios anyway.

The list of all the events is actually in a character log. But it not always help... some people get stuck on some lore step and don't get exp for days (happened to me).
The idea is to run around and try to trigger everything. Once something triggered - do run again (usually something triggers again). And repeat until all known lore have been triggered. It is tedious to be honest!

OH i see. i read a little into it and it seems they changed it back due to some half arsed player who cant be bothered to do work in game and aqquire xp..
good job guys.
the change was brilliant and innovative, not only did you allow the saving of some of the worlds resources you made it so that villages do not need to have giant stockpiles of useless crap.
it would have saved on the auto bot mining into oblivion to find the next finite node
it would have made easy the ability to enjoy a break once in a while
and it most definately added a sense of acheivment to making higher quality curiosities.
now im back to wandering the caves twice weekly mining silly amounts of tin and iron and making massive stickpiles of straw among bones among other things.
instead of grinding quality like i would prefer to do...

maybe im just bitching over nothing but the change allowed me to stop concentrating on the lp and concentrate more on exploring, hunting, tanning and such.

whatever no loss i guess got it for one night...

btw 22k xp was never going to dissapear overnight.
some players obviously dont work....
Shanked..

I'm disappointed with the change back too...

The new system was an interesting, effective way to put more casual, lone people in par with auto-study, hardcore farmers...

The base LP being always used made sure that no matter how huge the Q grind was, big villages would never have LP bombs - instead only getting longer curios.
It also provided that if you make sure to always have something to study, you'd always be approximately equal to other players, not creating huge LP gaps between hardcore and casual players that would eventually lead to abuse and all that.
I think that change was for the best, it also gave a lot of value to crafted curios (because they last longer, &c&c) and it saddens me to see it rolled back.

It's just a shitty system dude, I log in every day and do some mining, farming, a little foraging and other random shit and I log out with about as much experience as I had the day before, which isn't much. When you are stuck in the exp hole it's difficult to get out.

I don't think that means they should revert this curio change though, it seemed fine to me and could just use a few tweaks.

really liked this change, hope the exp concerns get sorted out and that it comes back asap, took a lot of the stress out of maintaining the study

I agree with that completely. Few tweaks there and there and it is golden. I am more concerned about essence being the only stat affecting lp gain, though. Even though i have essence bats, moss and dragonflies - I understand that many out there could get screwed up with this. Exp part is manageable. It totally covers the benefits of ability to use moss and other rarer curious for the whole village and the fact that we all get adequate lp gain without autostudy.
