I realize that it is softcapped, but there should be a bonus and not just a cap for using a higher q article of clothing.

Such as if a bear tooth gives +7 str when gilding a q40 bearcape could apply a 2x multiplier to this bonus, and a q90 a 3x multiplier. As of right now a q40 item can get the same bonus plus or minus one or two as a q90.

Are bear capes and lynx capes now completely useless? You would be better off using a straw hat and bat cape for mining instead of bear capes. Am I missing something here?

imo 2 slots items like bear or lynx cape should give twice the bonus.
If I want mining gear it's better for me right now to make a straw hat and a bat cape gilded with bear tooth than using a bear cape :P

Thanks sabi, I did read the op (a couple of hours ago) but missed that. A lot of the time this info is hidden anyway for us to guess (like what the fuck gives what).

One good thing about this patch is that items finally show what stats they give/take :D

Maybe, but bear cape has strength gilding so you are more likely to gild two or more strength boosting gilds

It's a nice a update overall. The clothing customization feature seems fun to explore. I'm assuming it also changes the equipment's appearance?

Thanks for mentioning it. Please increase tower soak so that we can make impressive fortresses with them as walls. Or add locks so that we can start completely removing walls from the game.
