Boar Spear

By the looks of it, Boar Spear does more damage than bow at lower levels, but it evens up closer to endgame stats. At least those are my test results.

Boar spear when it was first implemented was in a good place tbh

Basically no loading time but at q98 it was doing like 116 dmg

Would've been good for gear swaps and turning around for a quick hit on a lightly geared attacker or to tag someone in the back after they've gotten slightly out of melee range
The damage was just low enough that it might go through armor but not enough to one or two hit KO most people

I'm sad Loftar didn't give it a chance to play out

Way to fuck this game so hard that newbies would never bother to try archery.

Go ahead and try to kill anything with archery under 100 points. You may as well just go tell all the low levels to use the horrible combat system or go play a different game.

I believe its been noted before, but the inability to shoot an animal a second time if it agroes on first shot be it a miss or a hit and it doesnt flee is huge problem, the only viable option for hunting with a bow is via boat, having a high enough q bow/arrow and stats to consistently hit and cause most (all) animals to flee, or having melee/unarmed high enough to combat after first shot and have enough armor on to tank the animal hits...the only option for any player that upped mm for hunting and didnt majorly buff unarmed or melee is to boat hunt...no more on foot hunting...and im pretty sure boat hunting to avoid all animal attacks is not a mechanic the devs like...but this update promotes that as the only viable option to hunters that want to use a bow. The nerf to archery for pvp totally understandable, not considering how this will affect hunting is not.

Fleeing animals should run at 2nd speed imo

not worried about fleeing animals, relatively easy to find and shoot them again, its the ones that dont flee on first shot, since you cant shoot them when they are on top of you

^to people like this guy, maybe consider getting fucking good and stoping crying about not one shooting animals with your 50 perception shitty chars?

If your characters stats are bad and his items are bad quality, he shouldn't be able to kill a bear with the bow in 4 or even 5 shoots.

If your character stats are good and his items are good quality, he will probably kill the bear in 2 or 3 shoots.

You're saying that you should be able to face a bear with shitty stats and shoot him while on foot? wtf XD

Furthermore, said character should take a huge involuntary dump in his pants seeing a bear on the border of his screen and run like hell to the nearest cave. Too bad aggro animals don't randomly kill players anymore, just KO them.
