The current satiation system makes no sense to me. If i eat two foods with 4 unique satiations, it's the same satiation wise as eating 50 foods, I'm still sitting at ~60% efficiency on average for the satiations I'm using. I agree the old satiation system was way too lenient, but I'd like to know what the new system attempts to achieve, as it doesn't encourage a particularly varied diet in its current form, with the exception of adding the chore of making/consuming drinks (which aren't necessarily a bad addition, imo, but not really pertinent).

Thanks
Adding a satiation reduction over time would just be another food related timegate, with hunger already filling that purpose it's unnecessary.

Before bashing the satiation thing, I'll wait for the general rebalance in statgains in accordance to stat caps (as is part of OP's plan)

I'm not bashing at all, I'm just trying understand the intention behind the new satiation system (as opposed to a direct nerf with similar mechanics to the old one). There could be an interesting effect I'm missing, but essence quality and food variety are both still unimportant with the change, unless you drink away your satiations which I've heard isn't particularly effective.

If people know the intention they can give more direct feedback as to how it's working.

Alternative: Make it so that satiation-boosting beverages recover those satiations better if they're below 100 with diminishing returns past 100, instead of flat throughout.

Honestly it might already work like this, I only have access to one beverage.

what quality of beer? seems to be high satiation and hoping it's due to quality

jorb wrote:[*] Changed Food Satiations. Rather than remove some amount of Food Satiations every time you level up, we now instead remove only the most satiated type as soon as you have 4 satiation types below 50% -- i.e. you may only ever have 3 types satiated below 50%, and as soon as you get your fourth type below 50%, the most satiated type is cleared entirely. Loftar and I have both been playing with this alternative regime for some time, and have found it more interesting. Rather than quickly cleaning out all satiations and effectively never having any, you now instead generally speaking will build and have a more ongoing list of satiations targeting various food groups to manage, which will hopefully make it more relevant to consider the satiations, and perhaps also somewhat reduce the effectiveness of spamming strategies.

I have a massive list of negative buffs from the new food satiation system. how do I fix this list? It is becoming troublesome.(please assume that I am a newbie and have no access to fancy end game items.)

You either need to eat a bunch of useless low hunger food in order to push some satiations down to 50% or lower and on your 4th satiation you get to 50% or lower the lowest satiation you have will be reset. Or, drink some beer/tea/milk to increase your satiation bonus.

Base on sabinati's quote:

sabinati wrote:1 tankard of beer got me to 66% beer satiation

I can only assume he is saying one tankard of beer took him from a low 50% or something in a satiation back up to 66% but it's possible he could be saying he got a 66% bonus beyond 100%, so 166% but that seems less likely. Can't be sure however. In any case the system is very tedious and boring and adds zero fun to food but that's my opinion. The fact is there are way too many satiations possible at one time and it's terrible.
