To address the problem with bored endgame players slaughtering newbies: scents from combat could scale with the Delta, with further penalties for the one initiating combat and being more lenient toward the attacked.

Fight a player of your level and it'll be as-is, attack someone weak and it'll haunt you badly, being attacked by someone with you lethally ending the fight leaves a cleaner consciousness than being the one who started it. 'Pickup the gun' ;)

One problem with that would be one-off alts standing in the way of your wall-building project, or blocking your way in combat.

We should be able to shove players anyway for a short distance, depending on Str for the shover Vs. Con for the shovee.

great point, but the system can still be abused, here's a rough sketch where Orange is personal claim and Red is a village claim. Just imagine if you build personal claims first and then build village idols later.

first case is if the distance between villages will not be changed. second case is if minimal distance between 2 village idols will drastically change. you can still build personal claims first and then make it so that there are no gaps between pclaim and vclaims, and still abuse the system, not as much as villages within villages, but still it would be pretty lame.

edit: unless you cant build/extend villages this close to another established claims to leave no gap in between, if so disregard what i just said...

We have in many ways been happy with the fundamentals of these changes, as we have always intended for the game to have a non-intrusive payment model, but it has also been the case, over the course of this past year, that the game's income has not, by a significant margin, been sufficient to sustain our present development efforts.

Haven is, and has been, a labour of love, and we will -- barring the unforseeable -- keep it going in one capacity or another for as long as we are at all able to, and money is not much of a factor in that. If, however, our attention has to be diverted elsewhere -- which, presently, is going to become the case -- that will, naturally, affect the rate of development.

STEAM bro.

Put legacy stand-alone on Steam for $10 and see how it goes.

If people played it again, I'd play legacy Haven again :)

Stupid idea. Dress up an alt and send them at the top fighters to get the scents.

jorb wrote:Cumulative bonuses from Subscriptions and Verified accounts. As it is now, bonuses from having a Verified Account are overwritten by bonuses from active Subscriptions, i.e., if you have an active subscription you will receive no bonuses for also having a verified account. We, rather, intend to make these bonuses cumulative. Presently a Verified Account implies a 10% bonus to Character Development rate, and a 25% Convenience bonus, whereas a Subscription gives 30% Character Development Bonus, and 100% Convenience bonus. We want to change the Values for Verified accounts to 20% Character Development bonus and 50% Convenience bonus, and also make the bonuses cumulative. An account, thus, with both a subscription and a verified account, would have a total, cumulative, bonus of 50% additional Character Development, and 150% additional Convenience.

or instead give the whole bonus to subscribed accounts, scrap the verification completely and leave legacy free to play in its terrible and unmaintained state (i'd rather you get rid of it entirely) and then give everyone with a verification equal amount of subscription time for the cost in the new world

imo 999 with ability to get to 1998 combat stats is a bit too much, maybe 500 to 1000 with buffs will be a little more sound and have more people participate in pvp rather than be afraid to lose 1k characters?
