Will they get both the pre-w13 hat AND the w13 hats? Or will there be a period where this happens closer to the launch?

During the stream they said they'd handle it the same as last world reset, although they could not immediately remember how they handled it last time.

Last world reset, players received both:

So I expect they'll do the same here, otherwise people including me will complain (I renewed my subscription after the announcement rather than waiting for the actual world reset, and I already have the old hat).

Sometimes you need to take a break from the game. You can go for a walk to church, have a beer, talk to friends, eat dinner with the family, watch a movie. Life isn't just about H&H
So I don't understand the problem that W13 starts on 4/2/2012. People also work and thanks to Easter they have free time to play.
You won't please everyone :)

I think that it would be a great occasion for founding the official HnH discord server, already have twitter, even facebook. Moderated by forum mods or such.

it exists already, https://discord.gg/YeSgJvzE, the OFFICIAL OFFICIAL H&H disco

from, like, w10?

Some people travel to family for holidays. Not being at home, they won't have access to a proper PC to play Haven & Hearth on until they get back.

Yeah, that's the case for me. I could take a laptop but that wouldn't be very comfortable, and besides - that's a family time.

You see family is more important to you than the game. So what is the problem ? After all, the family is more important and it is the best decision. The world will last more than 1 weekend. If you are a good player, you will quickly make up for it. If you have friends, you can definitely count on their help.

The first week is a unique experience. While the other initial weeks are still notably different from later in the world, the first week (especially day 1) is a particularly unique experience that can be experienced only at the very start of the world.

If you are playing alone then there is no problem. If you are playing with others then there is. Personally I don't like being boosted and I cherish the first days of the server the most. That's the time where we explore, find a place to settle, place our first claim, build palisade etc, look for our first metal, find WWWs and set up first crops. Those are the most fun things in HnH to me. With the way things are now it will all be done when I get to play, I will simply miss them, as my group will be done with them. And I will either have to accept the boost, play more intesively to catch up, or just play on my own - even if in the same village.

Well, I'm a one person with, probably, weird preferences I guess.
