Could you not bump that time line up a bit the lag is and has been extremely brutal and I'm happy the game is still this popular after the early rush but omg this sucks.

Probably to give a few days to make sure nothing broke from the OS upgrade before doing a hardware migration. This is the downside of being the only engineer on a dev team and not having a lot of hardware resources to do all the internal testing on before an official update.

Worth noting that most major developers do upgrades and migrations in this way, too. They do it in steps and it's usually seemless for the users, maybe a longer downtime one day or week or whatever their typical update/maintenance schedule is.
