It just might be, yeah. I'm going to meditate a bit on it.

yeah i prefer having faster study times and lesser stat differences 50 75 100 for example, 50 stats already makes enough difference doesn't it?

also once there is a better payment model, jorbtar should send emails to all accounts so players that don't visit the forums know about it and give haven a second chance.

Is the game even permanent death, though?

Ok, lemme rephrase. I forgot about the burial update.

Infinite progression and uncapped loss. You always lose 40% of what you have in best case scenarios. If you survive a year, you lose 4.8 months of progress. If you survive two years, you lose 9.6 months. For this type of math, the % modifier doesn't necessarily matter. If you get killed you lose that. This creates a very annoying system where you need to keep up with the joneses or get your ass handed to you in combat. But the longer the world progresses, the more a single death costs you.

I feel this is the critical issue behind why combat is so rare in haven (noob hunting is a different system, doesn't have the same risks attached). When I went to play darkfall after a bout of haven, I was getting into 15-20 fights a day and it made me realize the issues with the haven system. The game incentivizes you heavily to avoid confrontations without 199% assured kill power.

I've never found a solution that didn't radically alter the progression system.
Lucky: haven is so quirky
Lucky: can be so ugly, can be so heartwarming

Arguably, Valhalla should be remade to give more broad access anyway.

Ya. It serves no purpose to have to drown characters.

I still think that entrance into Valhalla should also be allowed if you die in combat - any combat - even without a developed skull. As long as you try to fight and not flee. Can be "abused", yes - but it's not like no one intentionally starved or drowned themselves just to get access already.

There are few things I hate more than getting spam from old services, though, and I'd rather not do the same to my players. It just encourages me even more to always use Mailinator when signing up for stuff.

Think of it this way, one one is going to haft to do anything till some ends the world. which ya likely will happen weekly basicly oince this world ends, thing is you are going to haft to wait a week or longer before this one ends, then it will likely happen 3 times a year lol.

If anything you're still going to be receiving a more substantial gain over the current 14 hours per week thing.
