If you outstat your opponent significantly you can be less smart about fighting him, yes. If you have a developed character with a sword, and your opponent is a fresh alt, you can probably two-shot kill him. This is by design.

It may be that the stats matter too much, or that there are other tweaks that can be good and meaningful, but in a fight between players who match one another to some, meaningful, extent it is certainly not the case that you simply spam one attack and that's it, and arguing that it is, is retarded, i.e. shubla argues it.

Have you tried stuff like making two equal statted characters with loftar and one of you were running away and the other one trying to kill him? Cuz that seems impossible to do. EVEN if the chars arent equal and the chaser has 2x higher stats. Overall, in standing combat, the system is really good, i like it a lot.

No human should be this strong.

I'd be interested in playing again if they were re-added, or something else functionally took their place like decay or death by old age.
I'm not sure there is any reason for stat caps outside of appealing to the minority that hit the stat cap before they stopped playing, and the group of that minority that really felt that they needed to grind more to have a reason to play.

There wasn't a single person in my entire village that hit the stat cap before they burned out from lack of other content.
Adding that other content over time will alleviate any possible problems that the stat cap may create.

The Kingdom content was a good start in that direction.

I belive that stat caps will come back in the next world, but they ought to be a bit higher, maybe in the 600-1000 range.

As for my opinion about combat - for now I like it. There are a lot of moves, builds and diffrent aproaches to it and thats very cool. We will see how it turns out when the meta sets in.

Either statcaps should be added back.
Or then whole attribute/stat thing modified so you wouldnt get as high advantage for botting 24/7

It seem to me like when you say ''nope'' you do actually go on to agree later. Maybe you become too defensive here?

Why not make PvP states the ones that matter the most have there own score.... so lest say you have a 200 str.... for pvp you would have a 30 str (divide the normal stat by 10 then add 10). this would even out pvp a lot.

If shubla's point was that you can kill players you outstat massively by using only one move, then, yes, that is correct, and by design.

If shubla's point was that you can kill anyone by using only one move, then he is wrong.

If shubla is right, i.e. he was pointing out the former, then he was simply making a descriptive statement about a feature of the combat system, and not adding anything to the discussion. I, being a gentleman, assumed that he was trying to make a critical point, contributing to the discussion and the advancement of the combat system and, by extension, the game -- the latter option -- and responded to that.

Either way: I win.
