its a turnoff that even to defend against an attacker you have to leave scents... maybe the attacker should be flagged so defending is free of scents

Why is no one mentioning the combat moves, as in how hard it is to obtain the correct moves early world.
Without a proper deck, you can't even think about going PvP, unless you want to get beaten by some guy using Knock his Teeth Out while you don't even have a red restoration.

I couldn't get Kito/Artful from hundreds of boars, I was even barely able to get 1 Cleave/Sting after killing several, or even dozens of Bears, Lynxes and other creatures that grant these moves, leaving me with a barely usable deck in PvP composed of sideswipe and random unarmed moves like kick or haymaker.

Can you imagine i only fought ants twice but nothing else the whole w11 ... ok it's a video game but honestly i'm troubled by the misconception of hunting should be card deck combat. Ok at least they fixed marksmanship ... ;)

As to your kill count, to be fair I suppose no one would be surprised.

Nonetheless the card deck combat is absolutely disgusting and I miss how in legacy there were like 20 special moves, there was a balance and a fight intensity system.
At the beginning of the fight everything was slower as the fight was at 0 intensity, thus giving you time to think about your next move, while currently you're instantly fighting, little to no time to plan anything.
Same goes to balance, there were tons of special moves, that could change the balance stat making you hit harder than your opponent, even if he had higher stats than you. Watch your balance, or get hit hard.

These two systems made the stats difference less apparent, and even hermits had at least more chance to escape when found in the wilderness.

I repeat once again, bring back the good old legacy combat.

As a hermit in w5, w6 and w7, I had no clue how anything about the combat worked. With how different it was from other games and how lethal the wildlife was (and no, ants aren't good training material), it was near-impossible to learn how combat worked unless you had a sparring partner (who knew what they were doing, otherwise it's still nothing like actual combat). With no proper way to learn how combat worked, I could only run away in PvP encounters.

The introduction of horses (which give you an escape option when fighting most wildlife) and the expansion of the variety of wildlife makes combat easier to learn now, but I still think that if something like legacy combat were to be introduced it would need to be refined to be more understandable for 'newbies' (not really the right term as I myself still had no clue after hundreds of hours).
