MightySheep wrote:pfft id argue the opposite is true - caring about your "reputation" in a shitty online game like this is a lot more "retarded". These guys found a way to kill someone they dislike, get a bunch of free stuff and cause a bunch of forum drama in the process, that's arguably more fun than the usual afk grind of haven. Fun is the keyword here because this is a GAME in case some of u forgot :P

Which is why I added "arguably". You do have to admit, though, that doing stuff like this after having worked so hard on that "almighty & powerful" reputation of theirs seems a bit like throwing everything you have worked up to in the trash, in exchange for a dumb pointless kill and some short-lived lulz. Also add to that the fact that they probably will not receive any form of dev support in the forseeable future, for not only doing crappy things, but also straight up lying to the devs.
Of course, they don't have to (and probably don't) care. I'm just saying that what they did might not have been as worthwhile as they initially thought, even if they did not get a comparatively severe enough punishment. But that's just my opinion.

EDIT: i just realized i posted this on the wrong account, sorry about that

Ainran, powerful? Lol. The only thing they're good at is pretending they're good at anything besides ganking sprucecaps.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

Well, you guys did a lot of it, still, I'm sure the part we did would have spanned the entire world with this much smaller world ;)
The low life has lost its appeal
And I'm tired of walking these streets

And dedicaced as he is, with new keys and help ( seeds, etc) he could be maxed again in no time.
Tone down the drama, if Dole quit its a choice of his own.

Nope, since he would never get his body back again, neither the skull, it would only be 30%, wich gives him 99 each stat and skill he had maxed out!
Considering he would get back a COMPLETELLY empty plot, without the hard worked high quality resources he had (like high quality meat grinder, high quality ovens, high quality metal, high quality furnaces, high quality ore, high quality crops, high quality table, etc), and considering the leveling curve on haven IS harsh (just choose one skill you have on 1, see the difference in LP from lvling it from 99 - 100 and from 329 to 330), it would be just a "fresh start"!
It would be DIFFERENT if he could have the place back WITH everyting they looted back inside, and a character with at least cap crafting skills and stats.

WHat you'r not taking into consideration here is that, the plot alone is uselesss... he never really cared for the PLACE the plot is in. Actually, most nobody care. If I get raided on a night and wake up to find my plot is empty and completelly destroied, but I still have my characters, I can simply move, make a new place and gather new resources, simply because the place I have my claim is not what really matters, but my resources and characters, those matter!

Well, if not implemented, should consider implementing: a server log that keeps track of basically everything!
That way, you can just get into the logs, separate it by the time things happened.Knowing the location, separate again by the coordinates on the map, then find out who got what. You actually just need to track down one "important" item. Track this item down from there on on who was the character getting it, whem and where it was dropped, who got it again, and keep tracking to the very last action made with that item... so you'll get to the real characters from those who did this, their real base and everything else, and can really punish them that way!

Also, Jorb, I think that, since you implemented a kind of shop and started monetizing haven, it's time to consider creating a kind of EULA that everyplayer have to accept in order to play the game, that would include rules about exploits, bug abusing and so on! And time to start to care about the playerbase, acting accordingly, since the playerbase is, now, what makes your project have a real value!

In a free to play game? Good luck with that strategy.

Banning accounts on a free game is certainly pointless, unless something could also be made against the IP/E-mail used on registration... Still able to circumvent, though.

I suppose the only thing that could be made was to play in the same coin: got characters killed in a bug raid? Then delete/kill their characters too. All of them, alts and mains. And make it so their "lineage loses honor", forbidding them to inherit any stats or LP. As for the victims, the opposite could be made, their lineage gain honor providing a one time use of a 100% inheritance. If things were stolen, offender's things should be deleted, if property was destroyed, offender's property should be destroyed and when there is loss of life, only the blood price for all involved should suffice. The only way to make things clearer (unless we want huge debates every time this happens) is to have clearer, written on stone rules. :/
