You know what needs to exist? A way to establish a rival kingdom even if your village has been claimed over. It shouldn't be easy to do, and there obviously needs to be a way to keep from building kingdoms to avoid challenging a border cairn. This seems like a mechanic that should exist. Anyway, those are my two cents. Take them for what they are worth.

Indeed but I don't think it should be in the form of establishing any sort of mini-Kingdom or something like that, villages simply need a way to deal with border cairns without the need for a realm. Obviously this should be something that comes at a higher cost for a village than it would a realm, preferably not in the form of authority since village authority is easy to upkeep.

Seeing what I have so far, the rate some players are extending, the cheap cost of border cairns and their massive influence I can see this simply being a race to build the first Realm on a fresh world and claim the most land possible. Claim your enemies, claim the resources, claim everything. But when most of that land becomes claimed before you build your Realm how do you then challenge the border cairn if there is no space to build your own Realm?

As well, I understand why you would not have global resources give exp towards the Realm due to spawning at a charter or however else around them but this makes no sense with respect to the whole idea behind what you want players to do with the system which is go out and claim as much space as possible and the global resources were a big part of this, one of the biggest in fact. If you are going to have so many players competing for newb/hermit villages, each other and empty map space why did you negate one of the only useful benefits to claiming somewhere further away.

These are my thoughts exactly. I think kingdoms should have to put some effort into attracting citizens and not just cover the world with border cairns in a race against the opposition. I was thinking that maybe there should have been set areas for kingdoms and then whoever set one up would have to put some effort into encouraging players to settle in their realm and could extend based on the amount of citizens. Idk though, I'm sure there are plenty of flaws in doing it that way that I can't see ... I'm more of a 'give me an idea and I'll make it happen' kind of person than the person who actually has ideas. :)

The whole reason kingdoms/realms were introduced (imo) was for more interaction to happen between large factions, which could end up turning into some kind of civilization-type endgame with global border contention/alliances. Maximum kingdom size would probably be an issue unless it's tied to either playercount within the kingdom or exp gained daily, and both of those ideas would be easily exploitable with alting.

So, no, maximum kingdom size would most likely not be implemented.

The thought of a live world map with all kingdom borders makes me cum. Alas such a thing is not really possible.

Why should that not be possible? Suggest it in C&I, rally some support and hope.

I assume, Neo is talking about some kind of world map like odditown's, with overlay of current kingdoms coverage. And if it is so, it's more for Wizard's tower than C&I and I doubt someone will do it....

Perhaps there should be 2 tiers of realm inhabitants, citizens and non citizens. Just having the claim over you will make you an inhabitant but in order to become a citizen you will either request to be one or be invited. Of course with any considerable number of players this system would need the tools to manage it so there's no hope for it. Tools would mean recording and displaying the total time one has belonged to a kingdom the total xp he has produced for kingdom authority proximity to other developed citizens/inhabitants etc...

Citizens would have more rights than non citizens their own version of state funeral if it doesn't get removed, bigger bonuses if they ever get in. Maybe a penalty to kingdom authority if they get killed/not avenged. The idea is to get more involvement between kingdom and citizenship without forcing micromagement.
