To be honest, I feel that you guys make botting out to be much more than it in fact is. I don't doubt that it happens, mind you, but I suspect it is responsible for less brokenness than you seem to think it is. I have developed, as of quite late, some tools to look at certain data aggregates, and as far as I have been able to tell, the vast majority of what is perhaps perceived as "broken character development" appears to be much more due to a few quite broken foodstuffs. Let's just say that the top characters keep to quite specific diets. :)

Keep those monitors up for the start of the world and you will see it. Thing is all the big factions have a botted client. It's hard to make a difference between the top end stat players because they all bot. These clients were gradually developed and perfected since the release of hafen. Since the start of the new world won't have any significant differences, bots will come into play since day one. I do belive that botted foragers will clean off big parts of map of icycles, crystals, mother pearls, salt, etc. It will be an unfair start toward normal players and will result in a huge difference in numbers and I do hope your monitoring tools can spot it. Previous world day 1 rage was attended without botting, I do belive that 1day griefing will be tha case here as well.

Congrats on the new world tho, I will return to the game that is for sure.

Oh and do something creative for the end of it ...

I do agree that the ore boulders should be removed entirely.
Not only they contribute to the shortening of the early game, they're relatively unfair for the long-run since the players that start early will have a more tangible headstart than the people that start in the following days and won't have ore boulders.

I look forward to see how all the recent changes will impact the early game.

I still think there should be a way to "hit" the first tile of a cave wall without risking a surprise cave-in that couldn't have been avoided in any way if you don't have metal yet.

New world is almost perfectly timed for me ;p

About the multi layered villages solution, it shouldn't be that hard to do.
Let's assume that every personal claim can be "influenced" by only one village claim, claim is influenced by a village when at least one tille of a personal claim is under "area of influence" of the village claim.
"area of influence" is 5 tiles larger than the village claim (so claim not overlapping but adjacent would also be affected)and let's say there have to be at least 20 tiles space between village claims and 20 tiles space from personal villages influenced by other village.

Now time for few question:
1. Will the merry Christmas event and the magic present boxes still be a thing in the new world? (hope not)
2. What about the ore boulders scattered around the world? (i hate the fast forward things hope they won't exist at least on the surface. finding gold or silver day one is no fun)
3. Will localized resources start empty/full or what? (wish they were empty)
4. Are you sure that learning point's should be awarded every time you kill something? (vets and bots farming bats day and night gonna kill the fun when they get rage in 1st day or two, make it one time thing like discovering things or make a daily limit of lp that can be acquired this way please)

About tri-quality +1 on removing it.

Yeah...i agree also, maybe they could be super rare, just a bunch of them....it could be interesting. Lets say 10 guys will be lucky to have one of them early game to make a pickaxe or whatever...

Nah, your ideas are often separated from the reality. You do not really think about how it can be abused, before suggesting.

You make people pay for alts.

And by letting us 'Shoo' players.

Exactly. If someone is going to go through the trouble of making a hundred alts to block something, they probably aren't going to be prepared to constantly be moving them back to where they need to be.

Then again, I've seen some of the rigs people put together to pull off some of the crazy shit in games, too, such as running AI scripts and bots. If you could put together a client with a stripped out UI (no graphics or direct input), you could run a lot of them on even a crap system. Have a single modded client as a watchdog and control your minions Starcraft style.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

LadyGoo wrote:Suggestions (the key things for the next world, IMHO):

The ore boulders shouldn't be a thing, like in W8 and W9. First of all, it accelerated the development in a bad way: people skip the leather armor and survival part of the game and process into wearing armor/killing animals easily with them. It's a joke when someone can have armor and a sword within the first 3 hours of the game. Especially with the ability to grind LP by killing animals, that should be fixed. It would add some additional time for the gameplay and make it more challenging.

Tri-quality should be removed and re-implemented in the future worlds if the devs will be able to come to the balance in terms of use for each quality type.

Tunnels and caves in the lower levels should be removed. The mining looses it's fun with finding random nodes while you dig just because the caves let you explore so much and so quickly. It is like removing 2 months of potential gameplay.

I agree with all of this. Early world is the most fun and the longer it last the better it is.

I hope it's not another game because Haven is at its best right now and if you swap to some shitty Salem-like abomination you must be braindead, honestly.

If you give up on Haven now, it's dead for good.
