But big pp boys don't fight each other, they make unraidable bases with 10 layers and just pick up on sprucecaps who don't have enough time for it. If there'll be 2 servers 1 will die miserably anyway.
About your idea - people will abuse storing their treasures in peacefull continent anyway. Maybe making it 1-way will help?
On the topic - cheer up, siege changes aren't bad, even if most people are afraid of losing everything because of them. You just need to make it so they'd have a chance not to lose everything against opponent with larger stat numbers and more people. Just remember that whatever you add, powergamers will gain maximum profit of it/do everything they can to avoid penalties, when others *could* do the same, but don't usually have enough time and dedication for it.

New siege system looks fun.
You just need to add a way to disable double village layers.
You also need to make a successful siege less lethal just how death has been made less lethal.
The owner of the village needs a way to salvage the wrecked town and in the current form it would just be completely leveled by a faction.
This thread gave few examples of how to do this and they should be explored.

uhmm.. actually i came up with a bit of an exploit: make village around your personal claim will yeld two different stages of power levels. This can also be done with different pclaims, making very, very hard to find the timing to siege the place.

Will the new world start with date as first day of summer? if it starts at spring like I initially hoped, the source of early discovery LP and FEPs in the form of tree seeds, nuts and fruits won't be available.

That actually might be something. After building is destroyed it is now turned into some rubble anyway. Maybe add a possibility to rebuild what was there from rubble? Not for free but not for the full cost either, making it not tremendously hard to rebuild high q infrastructure objects...

It is written just there in the notes:

I purposedly said IF THEY DON'T OVERLAP. Just surround your claim with more claims.
