I love gilding, but I /hate/ the affinity system.
The affinity system would be fine if there were a LOT of gildings, but a 4%-6% chance to gild just because they dpnt match? it's irritating
The problem posed if they DID do that is some items would simply have too many gildings, hence the best of both worlds is having slots scale with quality.
(I just really, really hate the affinity thing honestly, thus i will casually shill my suggestion
