Revert stat suppression from our old gear, add gilding with a significantly lower bonus? And some more adjustments.

it's in the patch notes.

My gut reaction is that I don't like it, my completely justified more reasoned reaction is that it could be great, but that once again the timing is horrible. Overnight pieces of equipment that people no doubt rely on for their day to day gaming have turned into empty bonuses-less clothing.
At this point in the world people are already starting to feel the bite of grinding and daily monotony, suddenly dropping a change like this on them is the kick they need to repeat that process we all know will hit us at some point and walk away (Doubtless until the next world) and with absolutely no scaremongering intended, plenty will.

I think this system is interesting, my biggest major concern is that RNG reliance is going to come back to haunt us again, don't ever discount how dedicated people can be in this game, if something has a 1% chance then someone will do it 1000 times if it comes to it in order to make it happen and get that advantage.
Is there a hard cap on number of gilding slots that can be opened?

To sum up a few other issues I have:
What's the point in the druid cloak's hood now?
Merchant robes extra inventory makes it the supreme robe obviously.
Bear capes and other items that take up 2 slots, eventually no-one will wear them. You can say it's easier to add specific gildings, doesn't matter, RNG isn't a barrier just a dumb hurdle.
Gilding choice is limited and should have been drastically bigger, I shouldn't have to craft a silk based gilding to get a specific stat, nor should I require a gold based one for a different stat, sure there could be higher quality ones, but it's walling off certain stat bonuses, why is one stat/skill better than another?

you do know, farming only affects crop quality when you harvest, right? farming skill does not affect harvest

I logged in started farming, went to see the page read it and went like FUCK FUCK FUCK MY CARROTS. ~10-15% of the field wasted. I hope people won't waste whole fields

rng sucks, my two bear capes of 15-20str before patch now give 5 and 6 from bear teeth. i get more strength from using a random cape and hat. with the new changes i'm getting about 33str from clothing now

how bout the equipment that matches the gild doubles the bonus before the hard cap from quality

edit: you forgot to let belts be gilded jorb

I kinda liked the system...
The only thing bothering me
Its nettlegear can now have STR...
Or lawspeaker hat having melee combat ?
Why dont debuff this clothes in a way that a Bear cape being suitable to receive STR itens than any onther clothes and so on... chance of success seens frustrating as it is...
It is better to waste gild on cheap clothes like a spruce cap for STR than the real Bear cape...
Ultimately... making clothes having minor stats again would be good so a clothe with INT would not be good with Agi gild... and so on.

i fell all this stuff could be easily rectified by making certain items double the bonus (or more or less depending on quality) from gilding.
like, lawspeaker hat double int gilding bonusses and maybe halving str bonuses.
can you make a str with a lawspeaker hat, yes, should you? no.

this would make certain item just work better with certain gildings.
also make sure that some items are just neutral to everything.

Did I?

the previous clothes system was more transparent, simple and organically integrated to world... a number system with no visual integration into the game, loses some of the immersive factor... would be nice if you only risk losing the artifice instead of producing waste clothes by chance

such as limits and less rng >.>
