All these "intellectuals" trying to explain some deep psychological thoughts about everything people say being nostalgia, act like experts of things they obviously never even mastered (or even licked slightly) and refuse to agree with people that, again, obviously actually know what they're talking about. So many of them on the forums recently it's disgusting. And of course Apex trying to bark everywhere cause he's a big scary hacker.

Potjeh wrote:NO U! But seriously, the legacy combat system was entirely supeflous, combat was all about clipping and movement hits, and the actual moves and bars were virtually irrelevant.

Wow bro seems like you were really good at it. W7 combat was all about movement hits (AND clipping!) and noone used anything but punch and flex, OBVIOUSLY. Damn I wish there were more useful skills (sting like a bee, no pain no gain, stern order, charge, float like a butterfly, battle cry, evil eye, opp knocks, jump and all maneuvers totally sucked, useless trash). Defense and attack were also completely useless hence why I rolled with 0% on both.
Feels good to have people like you representing Havens community in Inner Party.

Grog wrote:Great combat Ozzy. 5 people chasing a single guy and even need to place a boat building sign to get him. What glorious demonstration of the combat system.

How is that the systems problem? Easily fixed also. It's still an issue in Hafen btw.

shubla wrote:Fights in legacy were too long. Except if it was just 10v1 slaughter.

Fights were long because they actually required some thinking and space (situation) created to kill someone and not get killed in process. It also wasn't a rule, fight times differed. If anything "10v1 slaughter" took longer than normal fights since because of some flaws it was hilariously easy to run away for hours (just like it is in this system, or would be - even more than in legacy - without horses).
Again, thank you for your input, how many fights did you participate in?

Hasta wrote:Stop confronting their baby duck syndrome. "LEGACY COMBOT GUD" is, like, 50% of some people's posts (other 50% being shitposting and reminiscing about good old times when the grass was greener and they could bash a palisade with bare hands).

Look at me, I'm reawlly smarft so I'll say all people that havfe their owfn opinions are stupfid soo nostalgic!!

Kaios wrote:I agree with him actually you even had players like Nao literally bragging about how well they could stop someone with a sign and then remove it and own the person when they started moving around it. Only the cheesiest of players think of dumb shit like that and try to pass it off as skill.

Same issue is present in current game.

Now I was no best fighter in old combat system but the number of pretentious, pseudo-psychologist and "knowing all" cheeky cunts that try to look like experts about matters they have no idea about is maddening, honestly. Some of you even try to laugh at "clearly nostalgic" opinions that some aspects of the old game were better while all you know about them is facts from like World 3. We're talking about how combat looked at the end of Legacy, not 10 years ago.
Please stop commenting if you don't know what you're talking about. Or at least base your arguments on some actual facts.

It's not like anything's gonna change probably but I thought J&L wanted to listen to community ideas, and they're not gonna get better ideas than from people advanced in the matter.

Yes, I am smart. Asking for "revival" of something old because you had fun with it and "the flaws that is had could be easily fixed" is textbook babyduck. Nostalgia, as you put it. Denying it angrily just makes you look even more like a geezer yelling at teenagers to "git off mah lawn". And trying to diminish my argumet to an absurd one with mockery is a transparent and cheap demagogy.

The only actual flaw pointed out here was sign clipping, which is still present in the game and there's 1000 possible fixes to it.

Also, what was your argument? I think I missed it...

I pointed out to Potjeh that it's a fruitless labor to argue with people clinging to their nostalgia.

We all know that current combat is bad. I also hope that everyone realise that legacy combat was not ideal (even if it was better then current one). I just cannot understand why everyone is so focused on bringing back legacy system instead of making the current one work?

That's my point. There is no actual combat.
I'd be interested how you'd "easily" fix it.

Still not anything near actual combat, neither in old worlds nor here. Why would "people advanced in the matter" use that?

It's not like anything's gonna change probably but I thought J&L wanted to listen to community ideas, and they're not gonna get better ideas than from people advanced in the matter.

Which they probably would if those "people advanced in the matter" weren't busy to just want to have the old system back; Even in a thread where quests were introduced.

Agreed.
