I think you missed the point of that but I have always been playing, probably more than the people who do actually say that stuff.

I am pretty sure the devs can filter out the bullshit by themselves and draw conclusion from the good opinions from the public and what they think best for their game themselves and they don't need some priviliged club of a few people that want the game to be their own way without being confronted by the general public.

They can, yes, but it is more easy to just not need to waste time with this filter.

lies I think it's pretty obvious they have a hard time doing that considering the update schedule lately and the lack of any real content in them

I think issue is more that there are many voice with legitimate complain because game has legitimate many issue. But I do not see them do any of the really bad suggestings. At worst just controversial one.

To be honest weekly updates were pretty bad, limited to adding like 1 shitty food that nobody would use anyway. The quest update recently was quite significant.

yeah I would rather see patches being monthly, bi-monthly or even seasonal with hotfixes and really small patches for the most urgent things between them, but them being rather big and finished instead of half assed shit.

Problem is if developer goes off to do some super update, then adding it and players do not like (e.g. combat change). I think people will be frustrated from this and lose faith in developer vision. This can be not good for playerbase and people will call for more iterative approach.

They also lose faith when they release a rushed half assed/rushed patch constantly and them being really small. I think having longer time developed patches is less evil.
