plus maneuvers only react to attacks while in legacy that was any move(but attacks) and there was no cooldown when swapping stances too, and there was combat meditation(best stance ever)
but i don't want a copy of legacy combat do something else pls

Loftar said we had to wait even longer for world 10.
Why they are keeping this world alive, I do not know.
Not much changed combat wise so what is there to test?

I have been testing this combat and I have to say I literally cannot defend myself against someone with high stats punching and chopping me over and over. By the time the cd of dash is over I'm at 50% off balance again. There is no strategy there, there is no possibility for a smarter fighter to win, it's just putting off the inevitable smh.

What Jesus_Smith said is why. Combat needs to be tweaked. Issues are obviously going to happen in the beginning. They need to optimize combat. Noone can test with naked characters. Stop asking about it. Kthxbye

I will admit I think some tweaks and balancing needs to happen. For instance:

  • I believe that there are currently not enough ways to restore openings in a effective way.
  • When restoring openings on yourself, the Cooldown seems so great, that even with 5/5 in Jump, I still can't seem to reduce my Reeling fast enough(not completely, just enough to reduce damage) before the Openings I caused on enemies go away all together. Causing a vicious cycle of cause and restore.
  • Moves should be listed somewhere so we know what we're hunting for. Or at the very least, could we get a "learned from" on the move to remember what moves were hunting for?
  • Maneuvers don't currently seem worth it, with shields up, sure it reduces quite a bit of openings, but it still does not place you at any sort of advantage(see point 2)
  • The system should play more on stats than it does. Example: Jorb stated someone with more stats should be able to demolish someone with lower stats quite easily. However, there only seems to truly be one fighting style, offensive. You should be able you build your character for multiple things, a tank/defense powerhouse, an offensive quick attacking character, or a stealth/rogue-like character that does not cause as much damage as the offensive, has little defensive capability, but has increased movement speeds. These are just ideas.
  • If possible, the descriptive text of a move or maneuver should show better explanation of the equation, or hell just do the equation for you. Analogous to the abilities system, it shows your base+bonus, I feel moves should display the same way.
  • Better explanation of what stats effect what moves should be more prevalent. This builds off point 5, if there is more to the way stats effect moves, restorations, it's not listed anywhere so who knows. But someone with 50 agility and someone with 150 should not be on equal ground. Literally, regardless of armor(Weapons Aside) the person with 150 agility should be so much faster in combat that it's incredibly noticeable. But what stats do effect what skills?

These are just observations, but I feel like there's no benefit to building a specific character in combat at the moment and I feel like the new system is made solely for just one thing...offense. You could build for a defense character, but i feel like the penalty for Opening restoration is too great, and what team battle doesn't have roles? Like you put in moves that attack multiple enemies, but everyone has the same role in combat. Players playing together should be able to use a Restoration that has AoE in a party, or a "healer" of sorts. Someone designing a Tank should be able to buff people in AoE. Then you have the straight DPS characters. Obviously I understand the point of development and may not come soon, but I feel like the CTC and DH has very little benefit over someone with Plate. Obviously these items feel like they're designed for different play styles, but only feels like there's one play style at the moment.
